Re: SCR8 Location Question
I think it's 11 exits from the hotel, and like 8 from the track...I believe it's on the Missouri side of the river, so the only down side is you'll have to cross the bridge...but it's still easily within 10 minutes...

Re: SCR8 Location Question
Ok...that's the one across town...I was thinking it was one of those near the arch, which would be within 10 minutes...

Re: SCR8 Location Question
Is everyone staying at the fairfield?...

Re: SCR8 Location Question
Go back to the Homepage and click on the link for the 2005 SCR. Scroll down for hotel info. Best to stay at the Holiday Inn if there are any rooms left. The late night parking lot bench racing sessions are one of the best parts of the show.

Re: SCR8 Location Question
Sam a bunch of us are staying at the Fairfield. But either hotel works well and is walking distance to the convention center. I think the Holiday Inn SYC rate has expired though.

Re: SCR8 Location Question
Harrahs is flying me in and paying for everything so I have a pretty nice suite there but I may also get a room at the Fairfield just to hang out. You have that number?

Re: SCR8 Location Question
I actually reserved my room yesterday at the Holiday Inn for the SYC rate, if you talk to Sue Turner she will hook you up with a room for the SYC rate (1-800-551-5133). She said that there where still vacancies. I actually got a room for two in case anyone wanted to split a room. Your welcome to it if you would like, just drop me a PM. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Jesse

Re: SCR8 Location Question
Ok, got the scoop from a buddy here in town who is a connoisseur on Midwest casinos...just down the river a tad from the arch, at the I70 river crossing on the Illinois side, is the Casino Queen...just up from the arch, on the Missouri side of the river, is the President Casino...and then across town in Maryland Heights, on the Missouri river, is Harrah's...and back on the Illinois side, but up the river from all of these is the Alton Belle. According to him, Harrah's is the nicest of the 4...said the Casino Queen is like walking into a smoke shack...but the ballbuster about Harrah's is that it's in Missouri, which means you've got to mess with some kind of "Rewards card", and you can't use chips to pay for drinks (only cash), and most importantly drinks aren't free...all of this is negated in the Illinois casinos, but the Illinois boats aren't as new.

Re: SCR8 Location Question
Those rewards cards is how I get everything comp'd, I have what is called a "Seven Stars Card" which is the top teir from basically visiting a little too often. Harrahs is taking over alot of casinos, Ceasars, Horseshoe, ect so I get to go any place they own anywhere in the world for free a few times a year which includes 2 or 3 bedroom suites, all food and beverage, airfare, shopping sprees, party's, clothes, gifts, ect. A big perk for the card is no waiting for anything, walk into booked restaurants, shows ect last minute even the airport is zero wait which is a big deal in Vegas. This year we called to go to Vegas on Dec 21st for Xmas and New Years and they set it all up no problem and we brought 10 people with us and got 3 suites all last minute, when I got home I got a brand new set of Callaway golf clubs, and my kids got Trek Bikes as a thanks. So basically if you do gamble, go to Harrahs and USE the CARDS, they definatly pay off, there is a trick to playing slots to build up your credits and comps without going bankrupt doing it but I have to know you really well to give you that inside info https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif...Anyway, thats the inside scoop on the Players Cards... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
