Is this a real YENKO?
Can someone tell me if this is a real Yenko, since it's not on the vin list at this site.
Yenko for sale on ebay |
Re: Is this a real YENKO?
Its on the list...no dealer listed, no transmission listed, color is unknown it says, possible green or blue (looks like its blue!)... This looks like it may be the car that was on the cover of MCR a few years ago, judging by the lack of rocker panel moldings. Who's is it?

Re: Is this a real YENKO?
And a supposed COPO and Thunderbolt up this week as well. Now THAT's a collection. Someone must know of this guy and his cars. Looks like a lot of other interesting iron in that building.

Re: Is this a real YENKO?
COPO.com lists this VIN as a RG car sold to Colonial Chev
In VA. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif http://www.copo.com/L72-VIN-69-Yenko-Camaro.htm |
Re: Is this a real YENKO?
Could very well be... looking at the pics, its quite easy to believe the car has been repainted/color changed. Pretty p*ss poor descriptions I might say. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

Re: Is this a real YENKO?

Re: Is this a real YENKO?
looks like a 69 Yenko in the backround OK He has several cars listed one being a 69 Yenko

Re: Is this a real YENKO?
Ed doesn't like to list cars that the certification hasn't been paid for. (Like mine.) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif
I have to go with Fred on this: Incorrect, incomplete, and a blast to drive! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif Also, it looks alot like my car. Trim tag pic would be nice to see, though. |
Re: Is this a real YENKO?
Yes, it's a known COPO.
|
Re: Is this a real YENKO?
Sounds like the guy who was down here in so cal with a protected coprywrite!!!! He had some collection!!!

Re: Is this a real YENKO?
I called this guy two days ago to ask him about this car... I looked on Eds site and it said ralley green, but on this site it says fathom green/lemans blue. I asked the guy what the body tag said and it was coded 71/71 with 711 trim... I say it has the right VIN and right color to be a Yenko and one that has some messed up paperwork... Cool car, Mark

Re: Is this a real YENKO?
There was a Blue auto for years around here that was a green car with a trim tag swap. It was for sale a couple times at Hot August Nights. If it is the same car the two drain plugs on the top of the firewall are completely hidden by a slurry of silicone sealant that has been painted Lemans Blue. Ask the seller for a pic of that area or ask if the drain holes are there.

Re: Is this a real YENKO?
About a week before these cars hit ebay a representative of the seller called me to ask some general pricing questions for his cars-probably cause he saw my Brown COPO listed in Hemmings. He didn't really know much statistical stuff-like if they had curve neck radiators or BE rears but seemed to be a nice, honest guy. Said he'd give me 1st shot at the Yenko if it was put up for sale.
After the cars were listed I called him back & he was inundated with questions & told me he had phone offers on the Yenko from $165- just under 200K for it. I was also told that the only doc was the title. I asked about the true color & whether it had the orig drivetrain but, I don't think he ever took time to check. My bet is that they got tired of answering questions & took the best offers. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |
