I think it's because it came from Norway https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Because the car is a "Norway" car that's why. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Blurry but date on the rear end appears too late for that car (12/9 rear) (9C trim tag).

What I don't understand is why there are several pics with the differential in the car, and many pics without the differential. What purpose would that serve?

That door looke familiar. Either the door, or the car was on another auction recently.

Is that a bondo drip on the trim tag?

Seam sealer drip.

I don't see the tailpipe hanger plate on the left frame rail. Looks to have been a 3-speed manual trans car. The tranny tunnel hole looks stamp cut and the shift patten plate on the console looks to be a 3 speed. Although, a Norway built car would be pretty rare; almost to the point of non-existence https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Also, the 09D build date (which was around the time GM reset the BDY #'s), the 290723 body number and the 619804 VIN don't add up. VIN would indicate an early March '69 car (03B?). Misstamp on the tag? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

Re: X44?

It's an 03D tag and both the VIN and the cowl tag fits perfectly with a base car built during that week.

I knew that door looked familiar!
Confimed with my buddy in MS. This car was sold a few months ago without a 12 bolt in it (+/- 2,000). Most of the extra parts have issues. He (my friend) sold the prior owner a GM quarter for this car. The 12 bolt that was in it wound up in a truck, that was then sold.

After looking at it more carefully, I guess it more resembles the font of the other 3's in the tag. I magnified and inverted the colors and it still looks more like a 9 to me (Lordy, maybe it's time to get some specs! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif) and I agree on the VIN/BDY correlation.

The VINs in March ran from appx 615000 to 627000. Wouldn't 619xxx be closer to a late 03A or early 03B build or am I missing something (which would not be unusual https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif) ?

I saw 9 as well. Need to update my prescription. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif
