68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
|
Re: 68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
I say about 3 million. As nice as it is ,I would rather have a RS BB vert. Did Yenko or any other dealer, build any 427 convertibles?

Re: 68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
The Motion Ads show you could order a Convt but were any ordered?? thats anyones but Joel's guess. I also want to say theres a DANA Convt out there as well but waiting on the paperwork on that one. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif
As for what the 68 Z Convt will bring is again anyones guess and unless its published on the auctions site as sold with a price listed, dont believe any outside prices you might hear about. |
Re: 68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
Was the original paperwork ever recovered for this car? I thought it had been stolen at a show or auction. That would probably affect it's value. I wouldn't even want to guess what this car might go for since I can't believe the Hemi Cuda conv prices to begin with.

This car is for sale again.....I guess nobody really likes it! Don't care how rare it is it wouldn't be in my top ten of choices. JMO

Re: 68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
This car was bid to $1,100,000 at the Mecum Rockford auction in 2004 against a higher reserve. I would have taken the money and run.

Re: 68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
A Dana Convert... hmmmm sounds interesting. I would imagine that the reason that this would be rare as the obvious structure problems would arise and solving this problem would add more wieght to the car making the better performance issue moot. But you never know maybe some guy that flew in with his chopped and channeled lear jet may have the money to burn and just wanted a hotrod rag!!...........................hmmmmm sounds like a 60's beach boys song, "My little 69 Hotrod Rag"

Re: 68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
The last time this Z-28 was discussed here there was a question about the crossram setup. Someone said it had the complete crossram setup. In the pictures on the auction site it looks like it has a single carb under the crossram air cleaner.

Did they ever recover the stolen docs?

Re: 68 Z/28 Convert up for auction
I just saw the car in May at the owner's home and it had a beautiful complete crossram setup. I believe it's been this way for well over a year.
