This is the only color photo I've seen. It's the cover from the 10/68 issue of Speed and Supercar magazine. (See attachment.)

Powerplant. In this case an L88.

Re: 1968 baldwin motion camaro

Did they use L-88's or that Corvette Stinger hood on the '67 Baldwin-Motion Camaros?

steven1963 06-29-2005 08:44 AM

Re: 1968 baldwin motion camaro

I think they used the stinger hood and then the L88 was used in 69

I have looked around and seen '68s with L-88s. Any pics of a '67 Baldwin-Motion would be appreciated especially with the Stinger hood.

Motion did several '68s with L88s.

Not to hijack this thread too much, but, has anyone seen a Motion 427 Chevy II? It is listed on the window of the Motion showroom as being availabe. That had to be one of the wildest/scariest combos.

Re: 1968 baldwin motion camaro

Yeah I'll post a picture of one later unless someone beats me to it.

Note that the showroom window advertizes the '68 cars, even though those guys are posing with a '67. I don't think Motion converted any '67 Chevy IIs to big-block power. Anyone know?

Note too the application of "4 2 7" numerals on the Stinger on the '67 in the dealership street photo.

That '67 RS/SS with the '65-'66 SS 3-bar wheelcovers is too cool! Also looks to have '67 SS 427 Impala displacement emblems on the fenders.

Re: 1968 baldwin motion camaro

I don't think Motion built '67 Chevy II either. I was referring to the '68. You had to do a LOT of work to fit a big block in a '67 Nova. With the '68 Chevy II Nova right around the corner and being a bolt in for the 427 like the Camaro, I doubt they wasted their time on such a labor intensive swap the '67 Nova would've been back then.

Based on conversations with Joel Rosen and Marty Schorr there were VERY few '67 BM cars period. A couple of Camaros and a single Chevelle are all that are known to have been built. In fact, I am only aware of a single documented '67 BM car that has been found. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif Anyone know of others?

There is a '67 427 Chevelle with a tunnel ram and sheet metal hood scoop also, but I think it may just be a Motion only car.

Here is a couple of the '68 B/M SS427 Chevy II https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

The '67 BM Chevelle with the sheet metal hood scoop and tunnel ram is my car. If you look on this site in the "Baldwin Motion" topic section for the post of when I purchased the car, the magazines are listed that show the evolution of the car from an 11.50 sec new BM Chevelle to a 10 sec. street strip car a year later.

Nothing new on the car other than collecting parts. I have two cars undergoing frame-off restos and believe me that is plenty. I hope to get the resto of the Chevelle started in '06.
