Interesting car on ebay:

No mention of paperwork, but pictures show a BS.

I am not able to enlarge the photo. Yesterday, I requested a clear photo of the BS and cowl tag be forwarded to me. Nothing received so far. Does anyone know this car? The BS looks odd to me. IMO, it is not a typical condition. Paper does not look brittle enough - almost looks like a light cloth. Font looks odd from my view too. Is this a Leeds Plant car? Thanks Bruce. Good heads up. Sounds like the BS is "BS". Not sure why anyone would try to pull such an obvious fast one like this. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif Actually, I do know why, but am not sure why they did such a poor job of it. That Build sheet is Homemade all the way.You can buy them alone from the reproduction market,and the type Fonts are all wrong.Even the description formating is wrong for a Leeds Plant.

To bad,as it &amp; the seller are getting in the way of a rather nice Chevelle that should stand on it's own,after some minor detail work.

Thot as much. Concur with Rick's assessment that the car stands on its own merit pretty well. The bogus BS shrouds it in speculation. Partial VIN by Oil Galley is nearly impossible to restamp due to the roughness of the metal. No pictures of this or the stamp pad or the cowl. Original cowl would authenticate this car as an SS as 72 was a paint that only the SS could have. Oh well.

Vins are routinely removed and restamped by the oil filter. A professional/quality Job is virtually undetectable.

BONEHEAD.... I agree.. it's this need to make something more than what it is that hurts the sale....The car looks nice, just sell it as a nice car and let the bids begin!! as for why someone would try and sneek a fake BS in now days.. I feel for as many car guys out there that are knowledgable about what is real or what isn't.. there are even more out there that just don't know.. that includes the sellers.. this seller likely didn't think anyone would catch it. and even likely he doesn't know it's fake.. BUYER BEWARE as always... nice car, but with a fake BS, everything comes in question now.. IMHO.

You can't get the build sheet but you can get an option list for cars that were built or sold new in Canada. Mine cost a little over $33 US or $45 Canadian.

I don't blame Ebay for auctions like this. I blame the money hungry sellers. There is no way Ebay can police over a million items that are listed every day. Even if they could, to the average person, there is nothing wrong with this auction.

Fonts look pretty good, I wonder if they shot a real buildsheet for their add and then they send you their version.
