Check this out...........2 Days to go......... Ken |
Re: Interesting EBay Item
WoW..have these shot up!
I paid $500.00 for one w/o a box on ebay last year. I see someone has placed a Wanted Ad in Hemmings in the last few months as well. |
Re: Interesting EBay Item
$3,250 as of Friday evening. And to think the street machine guys just removed these and tossed them into dumpsters 30 years ago. I guess that's why they're three grand now...

Re: Interesting EBay Item
WOW!!!
I will be scared to leave my car unattended while the air cleaner is on it. I guess I could tie a pit bull to the car *LOL* |
Re: Interesting EBay Item
We could make a fortune patening and selling air cleaner locks https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Re: Interesting EBay Item
I will sell mine for 1/2 that and deliver it to the buyer anywhere within the continental US.

Re: Interesting EBay Item
I see sanity has taken a vacation. Hope it isn't permanent.
I just did some quick figuring, and this sold for more than I paid for my first eight (8) cars COMBINED. That includes a pair of 69 Z/28's. Maybe it says something about my age and the kinds of POS I used to buy. Un friggin believable. Lynn |

Re: Interesting EBay Item
I can picture the seller sitting at his computer as the final bid came in.
His face stone still, eyes wide as saucers, heart rate jumping to over 120, jaw dropped and firmly planted to his chest. His mind thinking "you f!@#$% kidding me, 6 grand for an aircleaner?" Oh wait, that was me! Unbelieveable! Rick H. |
Re: Interesting EBay Item
Wait and see if the deal actually goes through. Roger

Re: Interesting EBay Item
Looks like buying the car is only half of the problem. The price of parts is crazy. Luckly my car has 90% of the original parts.

Re: Interesting EBay Item
I am curious, Was it a 70 Camaro SS/L78 or a LS6 Chevelle owner that paid 6 Grand for
an Air Cleaner Assembly just due to the fact that it is an NOS piece. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif When I restore mine it will probably look better then that one…. I wonder if he will sell me the box for a few hundred bucks https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |
Re: Interesting EBay Item
Hey Mike,
--------At that rate that last 10% will cost you around $100,000...........Bill S |

I can picture the seller sitting at his computer as the final bid came in. [/ QUOTE ] He was smart to hide the bidders' identities too. Hidden ID's make it easy to drop $6,000+ on an air cleaner and not have to be criticized for it on every musclecar forum. Now the buyer can say, "No, my dual-snorkel isn't the one that sold on eBay for six grand. Can you believe that someone paid that much for one?" |
Re: Interesting EBay Item
Two LS-6 Chevelles, Identical, sitting next to each other for sale, one is 7 grand more than the other but it has a real air cleaner assembly on it, which one would you buy? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif
I would personally find it hard to flip out an extra 7 grand for this one piece. I think some would spring for it though...these are crazy times. |
