Very COOL! I'm curious on the sponsership on the 68 Nova/67 Camaro.Looks like Courtesy was removed and then altered in the pics.Then back again on the Camaro along with DH..Tough to keep track of 35 years later..

The reason I am wanting to know the color of the car or pictures is the fact my Yenko came from that area. Sold thru Barford Chevy Clayton MO. Just outside of ST. Louis. My car was dr. blue RS and V- top same as Rains car. Rains car looks to be a dark color. My car is still on a 1972 title from a small town in MO. Ellisville Mo. Slim chance but you never know. The guy I bought it from owned it 31-33 years. He bought it with out motor, trans and hood.

Living in St. Louis, I don't remember a Barford Chevrolet. Not saying that there wasn't, just never heard of them. I have a another photo of Rains' 67 Camaro with Milner Chevrolet sponsership on the rear quarters. Now Milner was a large well known dealership here in St. Louis but they are long since gone. My own 68 Camaro was even sold from there. Anyway, I tried to post the photo but it says the picture is too large. Any advice.

Mark, Barford Chevy was in the town of clayton Mo. My car and car # 241815 were drop shipped from Yenko 8-15-67 I don't have that paperwork but am trying to buy it. Kim

Ken, I talked to Doug last friday and he tolded me to talk to Lonnie Kirindall At Hi-Tech Trans. Inc. in St. Louis. I called Lonnie and He tolded me that several cars were drove from Barford Chevy to Dick's shop to be converted to 427 cars. Kim PS not sure on the spelling of Lonnie's last name.

Don't sweat it! I think EVERYONE here has gotten stumped by that one at one time...I know I did!!
Anyway, I attached the picture...btw, where did you get it? Is it an actual photograph, or out of a newspaper, or...?? |

Just a photo I happened to find surfin' the web. Really don't remember where I found it. The Milner Chevrolet and stinger hood are what got my attention and that is why I saved it. Hope it helps.

In the photo where the car has the Courtesy sponsership, I recognize the dragstrip tower in the background as the old St. Louis International Raceway. For those that do not know, the dragstrip at Gateway International used to run the opposite direction as it does today. Pretty much where the big oval track is now. Commonly known as the The Swamp back then because of mosquitoes the size of small birds.

Mark, I think it's the same track that Bill bagshaw "the Red Light Bandit" jumped the guardrail and killed two people in 73. I watched it happen very sad deal. Kim

My oh my, that is a very cool picture. Way cool panel border paint scheme. Is that lace, or cobwebs?
