Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
--------Looking at the pics and the documents available, this is probably as good a candidate as any to raise the bar on 70 up Zs. Car appears to be very nice..........Bill S

Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
Wow that black one is gorgeous!

Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
As has been pointed out at www.nastyz28.com the Arizona 70 Z has some issues.......like R/S front end added to a Camaro W/O Style Trim option(which all Z-22 R/S's included),
Non Original Right front fender, No wood grain horn shroud that would have matched wood gauge bezel if car REALLY had interior decor group....and this is a 70 Z asking $40K+ what a load of #@&*%!!!!! I cant even imagine hlow many other things are missing or incorrect. Any $40K+ 70 Z should be DEAD NUTS perfect IMHO......Phils's car in comparison is PRICELESS!!! Chuck |
Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
Anyone familar with this black Camaro? My understanding is that black was not a std. color offered for this year Camaro. Are we to assume black was the spl. order paint for this car? Would documents show the original color of this car if it were spl. order paint?
|
Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
Guess I should have read the ad more carefully as I see the color issue is "explained". I saw this ad & picture earlier this weekend and I don't remember the ad originally including any narration about the owner changing the color as it is now explained in the ad linked on this board.

Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
The Happy Days 1970 white Z28 ended up here in Austin and it is very, very nice. Very correct car with original engine and even the smog pump. Auto and RS to boot.

Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
Are you the new proud owner, Tim? Congrats if you are, I looked at this car within the last 2 weeks. I've had my radar on for a nice one for awhile. Guess I'm not serious enough....yet. Unmolested, documented originals are hard to come by.
|
Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
I agree, The White Happy Days Z is a VERY nice and correct car other then the
wheel color. At the rate that the 70-73 Z value is climbing that was not a bad deal. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif Mark |
Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
I hope whoever owns it brings the car to Carlisle this year.
Mark |
Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
No, not me. I was offered the car at what the new owner paid and the only reason I passed is because I just bought a low mile '66 Corvette Saturday and I'm only allowed one car a week.

It is clearly not a show car. Phil |

Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
I emailed the ARIZONA Z-28 seller asking for misc proof that car was REAL Z-28 etc, etc....He wrote back only saying that car WAS REAL , but would offer no pics of trim tag, gas pedal, or anything we look for...

Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
Chuck,
Looks Kinda like most of the Z's that were Raced or "Day 3" cars and then got a quickie Resto in the 1980's. Lots of those cars appeared in the car for sale areas at the swaps back in the late 80's the last time prices started to creep up. I will bet the guy selling this one has lots of comments on this car from prospective buyers -given the asking price. Phil |
Re: wanted 1970 or 71 rs z28
Jack said he sold to a guy in Philly, Don you got a GREAT deal.
Did you happen to check out his Hugger Orange 70 Z/28 Survivor. Good luck with it, |
