Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
When and where did this article appear?

Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
Wasn't that Camaro built for Bill Mitchell? I would guess the car is still in GM's garage.

Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
Dual Hood mounted gauges?
Besides a tach,I wonder what the other one is? |
Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
Yeah, I think that's the Bill Mitchell car.

Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro

Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
It would be so cool if they could get some strong creative personalities working at GM again... people that would do things like Bill Mitchell, Zora Duntov and Larry Shinoda did...
A single person can make a big difference. |
Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
Chevrolet could sure use a person like that Today! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
If there was ever a good case to clone somebody, I think now is the time for GM to clone those guys and bring them back...

i work for gm, you do what you are told to do, there are no questions. everything is done by commitee.

Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
Jeff,
Actually that ZL-1 was built in 70 and was originally a Rally Sport. It was black with ZL-1 badging and special trim. Car was restyled later to predict the look of the 78 Camaro. If you look close it is wearing 1976 Michigan plates for those pictures so that dates the photo you have there. Phil |

[/ QUOTE ] When are people going to learn that a committee will hardly ever generate something creative? Committee's are great at generating bland "safe" ideas. That's why there needs to be strong creative personalities involved. From everything I've read, those guys I mentioned above were just that. They compromised at times, but they fought for what they believed in and wanted. I create stuff every day... fortunately for most of my life I haven't had to deal with committees but a few times... |

How in the world are you reading the 76 Michigan plates? You must have the article in front of you. I saved the pic and zoomed in, but couldn't read a thing (yeah, even with my glasses).
I don't doubt you, just want to know how. Lynn |
Re: how bout a Prototype 73 ZL1 Camaro
Lynn,
The plates for 76 were special and had the cast streamer marks at the bottom. You can see the lines clearly in those photos. Phil |

A Camel is a Horse designed by a committee.
