Red Yenko on Ebay

Yeah, I'm kicking myself now. I saw this car in a dealer showroom in Lancaster about 5-6 years ago and never stopped for a closer look because I knew they didn't make any red Yenko Camaros in 69 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif. I think I had just bought my JL8 from Charley so I didn't have any money at the time so it might not have mattered. I guess I can consider it a lost opportunity to own a Yenko. As Homer would say, DOH!

Beautiful car! Is that torque strap on the driver's side factory for a COPO car or is that an owner add on?

I've got friends/family up in the St.Charles/St.Peters area...and you're just across the river from SCR8! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif So, you gonna have any cars in O'Fallon or just the studio?

Beautiful car but I didn't think you could get a rear mounted antenna with the rear spoiler? Is it dealer or owner installed?

Still a very nice car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

That car is not very correct, the least of which is the incorrect antenna location.

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

It might have a bunch of stuff wrong but apparently it still is a real Yenko. You could probably throw 20K at it and have it looking pretty correct and end up with a Lemans Blue 69 Yenko Camaro. Or leave it alone and play with it.

Nice car,and nice presentation, but the CAPS LOCK BUTTON NEEDS TO BE REMOVED. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif Man that makes it difficult to read!

Quick qustion MW...do you have hair ? If not...Ken Pascoe has a source for NOS.

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

So how much does the color change effect the resale price?, and how much of a difference would it make if you make it correct as far as the right parts are concerned?

MWCLASSIC 03-04-2005 07:51 PM

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

I HAVE TO BE HONEST I REALLY DO NOT KNOW IF THE TORQUE STRAP IS ORIGINAL FOR A COPO THIS IS THE WAY THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. SAME THING WITH THE ANTENNA. THANKS FOR THE QUESTIONS. JIM

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

If the buyer plans to do a frame off anyway, the color change is nothin. Otherwise, it's more of a pita thing, explaining why it's red, s/b blue, yada yada... In this market, I don't think it effects it a bit.

Those Redlines look killer next to that paint!

Belair62 03-04-2005 09:14 PM

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

They would look nice next to Lemans Blue too....

Jeff H 03-04-2005 09:39 PM

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

Heck, I'd just leave the car red and let people tell you it's not a real Yenko because they never made them in red. Then you could point out that it's on the known list of Yenko VINs.

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

I can just hear it rumbling through that chambered exhaust!

Unreal 03-05-2005 02:34 AM

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

Did any of the early Yenkos come with chambered exhaust?

Canucklehead 03-07-2005 08:52 PM

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

I think it looks good in red. It is interesting that being a real yenko that people are going to question the red, in your face when they find out it's real. If color changes don't really make a difference in resale and someone does a color change during resto, it would be nice to see an original in black

Top bid: $135,000
Reserve not met
Auction has ended

We have not seen the last of this Yenko.

Canucklehead 03-10-2005 09:30 PM

Re: Red Yenko on Ebay

$135 is a good price for this car considering it's not correct. Wonder what he really wants
