Try a #5 X-acto knife.
It's easier to grip,& makes the coroners examination much more difficult.

I called the guy the first day he listed it on Junk.com.I'm only an hour and 1/2 away and decided it wasn't worth the drive.
The L-78 Nova out in Long Beach this past Sunday would have been a much better buy and it didn't sell.

I would have made the drive to make 4 or 5 grand. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

I would've done that for $50.00.

Re: 69 Ss Nova Original 396/375

Complete engine alone is worth the $5500, guy also said he recently sold a 70 BB Nova for around the same price, shoot me.

Let me know when your finished beating yourselves up over this car and I'll tell you why after three 20-30 min. phone conversations with the owner I passed.
JrSully- Does it make sense to you that this guy recently sold his '70 on Ebay, and then turns around and give's the '69 away for half of what it's worth?

Nope, what's the scoop? Is this the guy with the junkyard full of stuff? Was this car gold and had a fire in it at one time?

Re: 69 Ss Nova Original 396/375

Marlin, not the car you are talking about, Astock, in my "brief" conversaton with this guy, he stated that the drivetrain was matching #'s, in the event it was, a complete L78 engine (block, 840 heads, 163 manifold, pulleys etc) M21 muncie and 12 bolt is easily worth $5500.00 all day long, thats my point.Having the original/restorable body that it all came in, thats gravy.

Ooops! Wrong car https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

So, what's the story on why this one went so cheap? Sounds like a good deal like Sully says, so, I wonder what was wrong with it?

Re: 69 Ss Nova Original 396/375

The first two minutes of call one was to win my confidence: forty-seven employees, forty cars, ocean front property...on and on and on.It was a fresh reminder of why I'm taking a break from California.
All the sheetmetal was removed(rusty). The non-G.M. quarters were hung by his father-in-law.The paperwork consisted of the original title in the original owners name dated '69.I had to trick the guy(call three)into digging the title out...it was issued in 1998.Never commited to the numbers on the engine, trans nor the rear, after repeated attempts.Refused to meet me out at the getto location in person.Insisted his father-in-law knew nothing in case I freaked-out once I saw this great jewel.Pieces and parts were scattered.Any facts that I did manage to pry out of the guy on call three differed from one and two, like having the block squared. I can go on and on.
