Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
Take a peek at this thread:
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show.../fpart/20/vc/1 Gorgeous car. I was guessing that it would hit 300K in that frenzy after the 3 million dollar "Oldsmo-Vette". I almost had to mute the announcers during that auction though....especially after they'd referred to the black LS6 ragtop Chevelle sold at Baldwin Chev. as a "Baldwin Motion" car. |
Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
I just flew back from the auction Sunday night. I thought the announcers rushed the Motion car through and then ended it with out trying to get the highest bid on the car that they could.
Does anyone know just who the buyer was. All we could find out was that it someone on the phone long distance from Las Vegas but so far, no name has surfaced. I have a person in mind that could afford it that is from Vegas, but I am not sure if he was the buyer or not? I honestly don't know who it was and believe me, I asked everybody while I was there but not one person knew any more than I did. To answer your question about the owners it was a older couple that had inheaarited it from his brother and it was being handled by George for them at the sale. George is one nice guy and a member on here. It is a shame that it didn't go for more money but just following a 3 mil dollar car so close kinda took the moment away for those cars behind it for a while. Charlie bought a neat 32 Ford Roadster. Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
I was thinking that George owned the car not the middle man.
So George whos the new owner? |
Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
There was talk that Goldberg was going to bid on the BM Vette, but never did. He just doesn't look big on TV, he is even bigger in real life, I should know.
George painted the BM Vette, and did one heck of a nice job!! |
Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
Yes he certainly did! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif
Anymore confirmation on where it actually went & to whom? |
Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
George told me that he should be back in NY by tomorrow or Thursday. I will ask him who bought it, since I didn't see him after the BM sold, and left at 5am on Sunday morning. Rick, I will let you know what I find out.

Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
I called George last night and he was in western Okla for the night and down with a cold. He said he was sure that the new owner would be in contact with him since he still has the document from Joel reguarding the car and he was sure they would want to get that from him.
He promiced to post who, just as soon as he finds out. Has anybody asked Sandlin if he knows anything about it? Pantera |
Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
Not sure if this is helpful, but while re watching the auction on tape, the receiveing Telephone auctioneer(Pete Davis?)who has the bidder on the other end, looks directly into the Camera lens and says,"THANKS RICHARD,THATA BOY,THANKS RICHARD,THANK YOU",then gives two thumbs up.
The Narrators say that he was referring to the winner of the B/M Corvette. It could have been an inbetween, but are there any well known Car collectors named Richard living in Las Vegas? |
Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
Steve didn't buy it.

Bill..... that just seemed to flow out a little too "comfortably"... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif Is there something you need to tell us? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
It's Sunday, it's raining, my PST brake rebuild kit ain't here yet and the car's up on jackstands, I'm hungry, the wife's running errands, the kids are playing some water-mess game in the bathroom sink, and I'm bored out of my mind. Otherwise, everything's a-ok. Well okay, my first grade teacher, Mrs. Heller, did tell me back in 1968 that I had an "active imagination."

Re: 69 b/motion vette @ barrett jackson
Bill,
How about an "over-active" imagination! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif I just got done with back to back events...Barret Jackson followed immediately by the FBR (formerly the Phoenix) Open at TPC Scottsdale. Way too many days in a row at work! Wasn't all bad though, I got to eat (and drink) in the "Members Club" on the 18th fairway...gratis! I met up with Seth Joiner, Roger Clemens,Phil Mickelson and various other people...ESPN radio was doing a show in back of our display! Here's a pic of part of our display. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n_DSCF0573.jpg So Bill, when you heading out this way? |

Here's a picture of Goldberg at the car with George. It was
too bad he went out to dinner and missed the car. He wasn't very happy when he walked in as it rolled off the block. |
