From the ongoing auction??? Which car was this? What did it sell for?

Re: BJ JL8 XRAM 100K ?

This was the RS Z28 JL8 crossram car that was just repainted back to it's original blue color. It just doesn't make sense that a car built in Nov 68 could have a JL8 rear dated Jan 69 and I think that scared some potential buyers. Regardless of that, I thought the car would still bring $125K at least since it was #'s matching motor, RS, JL8 (whether original or added), crossram, deluxe interior. Those phony cars last year might have hurt this year's market.

If that's the car Jim from heartbeat sold last year I think he got 75k for it,that's a pretty thin profit if you subtract the paintwork.

Re: BJ JL8 XRAM 100K ?

Yes, that was Jim's car.

I wonder if it's the bubble bursting or just the fact that the cars are all no reserve so why bother bidding any more than you need to. I think their no reserve tactic is coming back to bite them but they still get their commission so they're smiling.

I saw a blue/white stripes '69 X-ram RS/Z in Bruce Blythe's (Xplantdad) B-J pictures---anyone know about it? Might be interesting to watch how that one does on the block.

Re: BJ JL8 XRAM 100K ?

That's the one being discussed in this thread. It already went across the block and brought $100K.

Re: BJ JL8 XRAM 100K ?

There are still alot of cars to go across, I guess we will see where the market is. Over the past 5 years the vast majority of the Scottsdale auction cars are (and have been) at no reserve.

Re: BJ JL8 XRAM 100K ?

Car #730.1 the 69 COPO camaro surprised me when it brought $185k or maybe a little more. I can't remember. I asked Lamar about that car yesterday and he verified that that was the car GM sent him when the NHRA gave them so much hell over the ZL1s. I told him I would like to have it for a $100k just to have a pair that were pieces of his work. Evidently the guy that bought it had called Lamar too and was going to pay whatever it cost to get it. Damn him. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif I guess being 1 or 2 made it extra special.
