yenko duece on ebay?

Has any one seen the m22 mainshaft on ebay? The guy claims it come out of a 70 duece. You got to be kidding me.I think he says he is parting it out. item # 7943348720

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

Deuces didn't even use an M22. All 4 speed cars were M21's.

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

Joe I know thats what all the records point to...but I can tell you this...the original owner of my Y Chevelle worked at V V Cooke Chevrolet in the service department as well as his father ...he said with absolute certainty the Chevelle came with an M 22 in it...but it actually was STOLEN out of the car and replaced with an M21.....weird but true story.Who knows... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

I see he pulled the auction.I guess he was worried about calling this stuff YENKO parts and all the questions he was getting.

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

My notes say that the Forest Green 4speed deuce from Kidder Knoefler Chev. in Sioux City, Iowa 'centerpunched a tree within weeks of purchase'. This car was the 38th car produced, and was stock number YS-023.

So, although the M22 part is surely false, the deuce into a tree part could be true!

hvychev 01-03-2005 06:17 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

I bet the guy actually has the car. Auction was closed yesterday.

Marlin it could be simply a case of the people that own the car don't know the difference between M21 & M-22 gears. I hope the car surfaces. Would be very cool to hear the story! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

hvychev 01-03-2005 11:35 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

I got an e-mail back from the seller saying that the car was sold new at a local Souix City dealer and that the car was sold to someone who they would not name.

It is only a matter of time before Marlin is contacted. Marlin PLEASE keep us up to date.

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 01-03-2005 11:47 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

Certainly will!

Kidder Knoefler Chev. was in Sioux City, IA and sold at least 3 deuces. The other two are found, alive and well!

gump 01-04-2005 03:29 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

If the possibility of it being a true yenko holds up,why would you sell the mainshaft out of the tranny?!!That would be great if it were true and would renew my thoughts that not almost EVERYONE on ebay is a liar.If it is real please do not part it out!

Schonyenko2 01-04-2005 07:48 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

If he center punched a tree, it's hard to say what's left. It may have shattered the main case. When I crashed my L78 nova, the only thing we salvaged out of the rear end was the ring, and pinion.
It may not look a lot better than the yellow ebay deuce, but, I'd sure like to see.

hvychev 01-04-2005 08:43 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

Update from seller. He e-maled me and told me that the front end was crushed in the accident and the car was #'s matching and sold to who ever just bought it by the original owner.

SuperNovaSS 01-04-2005 11:06 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

He never said Deuce. How do we know it wasn't a 69 and he made a year error? Could a 69 Yenko Nova be had with a M22? I don't see why it couldn't since it started as a regular L78 SS.

Supercar_Kid 01-04-2005 05:17 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

I'm confused...was the car wrecked and sold years ago, or just recently?

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 01-04-2005 06:55 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

I think it was wrecked years ago, but apparently recently sold - without an input shaft?

budnate 01-04-2005 08:21 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

Hey Frank did you ask if the car had any strips/decals on the car..fishing to see what he said????
someone sure may have hit the jackpot on a goofy input shaft add.

i'm in louisville, how many yenkos came from v v cooke chev.?

Belair62 01-06-2005 05:10 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

My Chevelle did ! If you look at the header above your post you will find a list of VINS and a lot of them show the selling dealer so you can get a close idea how many V V sold

Schonyenko2 01-06-2005 08:25 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

I hope I don't step on any toes here as it's certainly not my intention to do so. My thought is,whoever has bought this car, please post some as found, or as is pictures, before any work is done to it. While the folks here are good, and trusting people, if this car shows up 6-9 months down the road looking like new, someone will utter that awful word rebody. Please, if you would, share with us the history, pictures, and knowledge you have with this car. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here who will be glad to offer help. Myself included. Schonye

I agree. This whole story might be BS but I have a feeling it is true......

Supercar_Kid 01-06-2005 08:56 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

Did the seller ever give any indication that he sold this car recently? How do we know he isn't talking about wrecking and selling the car years ago? Not too many people sit on a wrecked car for decades, but I suppose anything is possible.

Bill Howell 01-07-2005 12:49 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

In his email to me he said there were dealers looking at it then(1/2/05). He never emailed again so if it sold, it wasn't me that bought it.

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 01-07-2005 02:14 AM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

You are right, not too many sit on a wrecked car. However, there is a sister car to this one that was reported to me by the original owners as totalled out by the 2nd owner. He assured me that the car was 'gone', so I listed it as such until proven otherwise. Low and behold, 2 separate people have seen the deuce, still smashed, 'resting' in a barn. So, I reversed the previous conclusion, and show it as existing.

This is why I referred to the prior listing of 'totalled' deuces as heresay, or speculative. Other than the PA cars that I've done title searches on, and have come back as 'Junked' or 'Wrecked', I rely on people's recollections.

Nothing makes me happier than to learn that a Deuce, that was previously thought to be a goner, turns up alive!

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Here's hoping for this one too!

Owner confirmed via email that the new owner has picked up the car. And said it was sold new in souix city,Ia. Ok spill the beans...... someone from here or visits had to of bought the car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

Sounds like the same car that Carol and Marsha told me about. If it's the real deal, it would be great news to find out that the car survived! Eventually, it will find it's way to this site, they all do.

gump 01-16-2005 05:31 PM

Re: yenko duece on ebay?

I wonder if the new owner got his mainshaft and all the other tranny guts with it?!??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gifHe hit a tree so hard the car is totaled, so the guy surely died in this car right??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

Geezz, I hit a bridge, and totaled one out, got 2 stiches, and I'm still pretty. Sometimes it ain't your time.
While I'm pretty much an optimist, I'm beginning to think this deal was bogus. Hard to believe that no one here, or on other sites knows where it went.
