Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
That is bad ass...Thunderbolts/Super Duty/ Z 11 etc. are historical vehicles...just like COPO/Yenko/Nickey etc....I love them all...

Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
Kinda inchin' up to the highest bidder.... like this quote from current auction.
[ QUOTE ] This is it! 3 Days only. We're close so let's get it done. [/ QUOTE ] first three auctions http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...p;category=6230 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...p;category=6230 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...p;category=6230 It's a really neat car with that documentation as the first white car, glass doors, and factory support and a first class resto I'd think it would bring a premium. |
Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
Check out those headers and the carpet savers....damn cool.

Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
The single exhaust pipe and muffler is almost comical.. Were they actually delivered with full exhaust?? I thought they had headers only.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Neat it's an Automatic too. I think it's the first Auto/T-bolt I've seen..

Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
Those R&D guys must have had a ball thinking up these cars back then----And then be given the go ahead to build them-- https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
The Mickey Thompson "one of a kind" 427 hemi T-Bolt was appraised at $500k and last i heard had an asking price of $300k. Was #10 of the first 11 that were delivered from ford and were the only ones out of 100 that were delivered in Maroon. The rest were white, so i gather that this one is #12.

That thing congers up thoughts of the bear in the woods that wiped his ass with the bunny.. The Falcon did the same thing with the T-bolt. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |

Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
There was one still out in a salvage yard here in Tulsa for quite a few years. Burl Hawkins broke the front u-joint of his driveshaft in the lights and rolled it. Last time I saw it there was not much left of it. He quit racing after that. It messed up his back bad in the wreck.
I sure remember when he and my friend and neighbor Weldon Christian would go at each other. Weldon Had a slew of fast Mopars including a 66 hemi car finally. Burl may still be alive. I haven't seen him in years now. Pantera |
Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay

Re: 64 Thunderbolt on E-bay
Charlie, Do you think I have not kicked myself at least a dozen times because I didn't buy it back then. They crushed all the hi-perf iron in the backlot back abut '76-77.
There was a new Dodge Charger R/t next to it also. Ouch....!!! If I had known these would be so valuable I could have bought all of them for little or nothing. That Charger was loaded too. It belonged to a local hamberger shops 16 yr old daughter that was killed in it when it only had a few thousand miles on it. I drive by the tree she hit every once in a while and you can still see the bark missing off it to this day. Dam was she a looker too. Her brother ran a 426 cross ram '64 beliveder. Pantera |
