I had a '68 375hp Daytona yellow Chevelle a couple years ago that I purchased from the original owner.Dash paint code.

A kid named Larry Seidell had a '70 DY/black stripes SS 396 Chevelle back in El Cerrito, CA about 20+ years ago. Total street machine with big-n-little Street Super Tricks (N50 tires out back, I think) and a healthy Rat. He just about wrapped it around a utility pole one Friday night during a street race circa-1984 when the car fish-tailed and got way out of shape during the launch. He skidded to a stop with the pole about a foot from the center of the Chevelle's front bumper. Ahh, those were good times.

I saw one painted Black Cherry? in 1994 at the NCOA Chevelle show down here in Shaumburg Il.I remember very little about it's details.It did have a buildsheet showing Daytona Yellow.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. If anyone runs across one sometime in the future I would appreciate it if you would look at the trim tag and see if it shows the Dupont paint code (like mine) or the "--" or Chevy paint code. Also, to-date, I haven't located another with stripe delete, so if you happen to see a build sheet, I'd like to know if D88 is crossed out and "Delete Stripes" is hand written at the bottom. guess im plain ignorant since I have never seen a build sheet such as there. I take it you have a copy of one like that?

Yes, Jeff. The build sheet is as I described and the Dupont paint code that is on the trim tag is also hand written on there beside "Solid Color" and followed by "Yellow". The neat thing is that I have copies of two other special paint Van Nuys cars and it is the same hand writing on all three build sheets https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

For those following this thread, I did get a build sheet for another DY black stripe car with GM of Canada docs. Not much left of the car though...

Jonesy...I have this 70 Nova parts car here with an LS 6 in it....I'll trade you for the small block thats in the Chevelle...
