Great Parts Sale on eBay!
This is not a scam.
A scrapyard in VT is for sale. Lots n' lots of musclecars. 142 photos of rotting American muscle and BUSLOADS -literally- of manifolds, Muncies and more. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...113198&rd=1 |
Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!
-----This way-cool junkyard has been on E-bay several times. It probably is a good method of getting the news out there about the contents being for sale, but I dont see anyone serious actually bidding on E-bay for it.......Bill S

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!
He doesn't tell you about the 2 million dollar EPA bill you'll be stuffed with after you start moving things out of there. Apparently the old guy never sold anything! He was just a collector.

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!
While some stuff would be worth money (I'm sure more than some), there's a lot of junk there. I don't see how they expect $2M for this lot of parts. They're dreaming. It would cost enough just to get rid of the junk after you sorted out all the parts that were worth something. Sounds like a hassle. Maybe he should take his own advice (which I don't believe for a second) and sell the parts individually on eBay and make $20M (yeah, right).

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!
On the first two auctions they said you were biding on everything -The house, any other structures and the land they're on. It doesn't say that now, but it also doesn't say you have to move it by a certain time.

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!
I saw a quick blurb that the property is included, and that was about all I saw. Maybe that was removed since. The EPA would probably nail you with a cleanup for all the oil that soaked into the ground or something fun.

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!
Maybe thats why it's for sale because that is a big risk...

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!
My brother had his car stolen once from some maniac that was harassing our family, years ago, and the moron pushed it into the river.
The police found it and told him he's lucky they didn't decide to charge him an environment cleanup fee due to the pollutants from the oil, gas and brake fluid, etc. that got into the river. They were serious, too. Imagine how bad it might be for a junk yard cleanup where you have more than a few cups of the fluids. I wouldn't even want to think about it, but I don't think this lot is worth $2M even if that wasn't a concern. In my opinion, this is yet another story of someone that has something that they think they can pawn off for far more than it's worth, because of the wonders of the Internet. Got to love eBay. |
