sYc members in print!
It's been a busy couple of months for the sYc and it's members in the magazines, so I thought I'd post some of them that I've ran across...feel free to join in!

Re: sYc members in print!
Here's one of my all-time favorite cars, Frank Radake's '69 Yenko Chevelle! Neat car, and even neater guy...and check out that launch at SCR7!!

Re: sYc members in print!
Here's a small blurb about the sYc & the Supercar Reunion...nice shot overlooking part of the cars at SCR6. Also a shot of some slow @ss Y-Camaro, as well as a nice mention of this site!

Re: sYc members in print!
Here's a great shot from SCR6, which was dedicated to Joel Rosen & Motion Performance. The actual article is an interview with Marty Schorr, who was Motion's "PR" man, but they managed to get a shot of Marty, Steve, & Joel while at SCR6...Marty is also dedicating a section of his current work (a book about Motion Performance) to the sYc & the Supercar Reunion.

Here's one for all you Dick Harrell fans! Luckily enough, it's from one of my favorite magazines...pretty good shot of dad pulling the front wheels, with the butterflies nearly closed! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Re: sYc members in print!
And now the fruits of our recent labors! Here's an article on our Y-Nova, taken behind the grandstands during the racing portion of SCR7. I wish we could've gotten some shots of it on the track...oh well, all in due time, all in due time! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Re: sYc members in print!
From an article celebrating "50 Years of the Small Block Chevrolet", a much deserved picture of one of the cars that helped carry the SBC banner high, Ken Boje's "Little Hoss", the now famous Fred Gibb Z/28 racecar. And then another picture of a certain Daytona Yellow Y-Camaro in a section dedicated to the BBC turning 40...

Re: sYc members in print!
For you late model fans, how about this issue jam-packed with some '02 ZL-1s! JD, Barnhart, Annie, Capt. Carl, and Tom Jackson...they're all in there! An EXCELLENT read if you're lookin' for some hardcore info on the '02 Supercars, and there's even a picture and some info on Stuber's '69 ZL-1 for you "old school" guys!

Re: sYc members in print!
As more and more of the supercars make it into print, I think there seems to be a common theme, whether old or late model, and that is performance. After all, that is what these cars are about. Glad to see more and more supercar owners enjoying their cars the way they were meant to be.

Re: sYc members in print!
Tom and Rob:
I got my issue of Chevy rumble, and was pleasantly suprised to see your Yenko Nova. Your Yenko Camaro is in the lastest super chevy. I believe it is in a small article close to the front of the magazine. The Yenko Nova looks great. What kind of e.t.'s does that thing run? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif Rob, you done any work to your LS1 SS yet? |
Re: sYc members in print!

Tom and Mo, (and all your helpers)
Congratulations on all the neat articles about the Nova and FC and the SYC. My wife is having fits with my new collection of "new" magazines to go along with my "old" ones! Keep up the good work. |

An oldie but a goodie...the photo shoot for the article on Mark's '68 was taken at SCR6, where Joel Rosen and the gang were on hand to answer all of our B-M questions. Too bad they missed Mark & Jr. banging gears on that car at the track...where else on EARTH would you get to see THAT! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

First Time I have seen this cover. Congrats Mark, Would love to see this car in person someday. [/ QUOTE ] Jeff, might want to book a flight to St. Louis around the first of Sept, as rumor has it will be making a return engagement at SCR8. Mark and JR were plaqued by ignition problems the first time around, but I think JR and Rob have discussed this and firguerd out where the problem was. As with many of the cars that race at the Reunion, it is worth the price of admission just to see this car make a pass. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif A big thank to Mark and his crew, who have not only raced the Motion car, but Mark's ZL-1 a couple of times, and this past year, his Yenko Deuce. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Now, if we could get Mrs. Hassett invovled. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |

Re: sYc members in print!
And what can I say about this car...a red '57 'vert, 8 turbos, and nearly 300 feet of tubing...this car is insane! As mind boggling as it appears in the article, you havta see it (in person) to believe it...

Rob, You forgot to mention Pat Joiners unbelievable low mileage 70 Z28 on the front cover of that issue along with a 4 page spread. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif Believe me that car can haul A$$.......... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif........RatPack.................I believe it now belongs to another member here.............

Frank, Yep sad to say but it went to good hands. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif That is probably the only 70 Camaro small block that has turned my crank in a long time. Car was a neat piece, sounded like a big block super stock race car! Here is a picture of it just before being taken to a show in Pigeon Forge this past October. It was taken back to the way the original owner had it in 1971.............RatPack..........

Re: sYc members in print!
Everytime I see a car in a magazine spread I expect it to be sold soon after. It seems like 70% of the time a car is in a magazine feature it is up for sale.

Re: sYc members in print!
That Z-28 was pretty much always like that. It had skinnys up front and wide wheels and tires on the rear It had the original Goodyear Polys and wheels on it when I sold the car to Gary Baker in Meadville, PA. I had to get the front end aligned when I put the original wheel and tire combo back on it. Ken Pascoe then bought it and then it went to Pat Joiner, and it did go to another member here. I purchased it from Don White. I have a bunch of pics I took and copies of all the paperwork that car had with it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: sYc members in print!
Wasn't it in Warminster, PA when Baker bought it?
|
Re: sYc members in print!
So what is the big secret? Who owns it now?
|
Re: sYc members in print!
Not me ! Pretty cool car though...I like those 70's...
|
Re: sYc members in print!
No it was in Jamison , PA when Baker bought it out of my garage , I have a scanned copy of the old title. Jamison is about 7 miles north of Warminster.

Re: sYc members in print!
That car had the best sounding LT-1 I've ever heard.I can even remember a certain someone blowing off the orig tires the day I saw it...
