Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
I thought that this car sold last time? Did the previous deal fall apart? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif
Looks like a ton of work. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif Blair |

Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
I'm not sure what happen, I thought it never met reserve and the owner wouldn't budge on the price. BTW, is that the owner in one of the pics? I think Marlin has seen this car or at least knows someone that has. Maybe he can add some history to the last time it up on Ebay.

Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
Maybe Schonyenko2 can add something as well?
|
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
There was a thread on this car somewhere...pretty rough...I suppose someone will have the courage.

Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
The fun is already beginning...looks like one of the bidders put in an "accidental" bid and had to retract after finding out the reserve !!! Pass the paint can and the popcorn ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
I didnt know Steven Tyler bid on that car :P
Really though wonder how you can make the same mistake twice for the same amount esp for that $$$ figure. Retracted: US $182,000.00 Explanation: Entered wrong bid amount Bid: Dec-08-04 14:34:35 PST Retracted: Dec-08-04 14:35:23 PST ( 37) Retracted: US $182,000.00 Explanation: Entered wrong bid amount Bid: Dec-08-04 14:36:00 PST Retracted: Dec-08-04 16:56:10 PST Bidder even had to retract their big 2 times. Guess the new high bidder will be the lucky new owner of a rusted Yenko Deuce. |

Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
Last time someone put a few grand down and sent his guy down to look at it. He got his money back, and went home. Several private inquiries have been made since then, but he seems set on 30k minus nos pts.
Bottom line is, if someone buys it and rebodies it, we'll most likley figure it out. Then what is it worth, or where is it's heritage? Or you buy it for 30k, and sink 60k plus into the resto. I'd still like to have it, but I'm not paying stupid money for it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif |
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
is 60K the going price to restore a Yenko now days!!!!
Way to much and no doubt would be a fast mudd job with incorrect nuts and bolts + whatever else!! |
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
$60K for a resto is nothing and I bet that car needs more than $60K to bring it back. But, the Deuce's might be bringing $100-125 by time you were done restoring it so it would probably be worth it in the long run. How many #'s matching Deuces are out there?
|
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
..could be worth 25k too....never know...buy it cause you like it.
|
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
I think this is a good example of how the web has really corrected the market value of this Nova.
Like Ken said,If it is re-bodied,it will be known about. The seller probably could have gotten the 30K earlier & easier w/o the internet, but now.... |
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
Jeff, please note the + behind the 60k. I think you're right. I'm way low.
While we can never be sure where the market will go, I doubt this car would ever be seen the same as say Mark Hassett's H/O deuce. |
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
Correct, it would always be known as a heavily repaired/restored car. But how is that different from a car(any car, Camaro, Nova, Chevelle) that was hacked up to run slicks and a full cage or other racing mods? I'm sure somebody will "save" it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
would swapping the firewall to a new car be considered vin tampering. it looks like thats the only thing thats not completely shot.
|
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
That same question came up in the old thread, and the general opinion was that is considered taboo! (ie Re-body)

[/ QUOTE ] Jeff; There are approx. 28 Yenko Deuces with complete #'s matching drivetrains, out of 84 cars found. This number of 28 is based on personal verification of some, but is heavily based on owner honesty. To further break it down, these 28 cars are split; 21 / 33% are 4speeds (63 found), and 7 / also 33% are a/t's. |
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
So if a guy was to take this car and restore it, knowing that it's been heavily restored would it make it any less valuable?. Or would it be better left to the elements and say this one could'nt be saved!! I would think for being what it is, it would still be worth keeping it alive!!.
|
Re: Yenko Rustbucket- It's back!!!
If it's restored correctly, the car's value is ok. After speaking to Schoneye, he had a good procedure on how to save this car. However, it is not for amatuers, nor would it be a cheap resto.
