69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
i am looking for a Rallye Green sYc 69 Camaro if anyone has a heads up.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
One in particular, or generically a RG car?
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Preferably a rotisseried restored car, if not a good solid car with paperwork. Posted early thinking it might take a little while, but ready to move. Any leads appreciated.

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Isn't the SuperCar Workshop restored, rally green 4speed car for sale at one of the dealers?
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Last I looked it was Private Collection...
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Worldwide still has the RG Yenko for sale & is asking $200K.

Let's go Kevin, put your checkbook where your request is https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
I thought the car had sold, talked to Brian and he said he had heard it was not for sale. I have had a family emergency and not been able to inquire. Once things get back to normal i'll try, which may be a while. Thanks for the info. I had forgotten about the car as Worldwide has had it a while. I saw it last year at the Forge show.

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green

|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Hey Rich, then a month later goes from 200 to 300.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
I have seen the Hemi Cuda jump from 200 to people getting 300 in six months. WOOW https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Heard that the RG (Worldwide) Yenko Camaro was bid up to $215K @ Dallas Kruse auction. Not accepted by the owner & later sold for $225K. If this is true, it's probably the highest price paid for a '69 Yenko Camaro. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Pics showed the car to be extremely nice. $225 nice? I don't know but lately it seems as though RG cars have jumped on the money.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
I don't think its the color so much as it is the quality of the restoration that brought the money on this one... You'd be pretty hard pressed to find a better restored 69 Yenko camaro with a for sale sign on it.... not to say that Rally Green isn't cool, cuz it is! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Agreed I think that you would be hardpressed to find a nicer Yenko.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Apparantly the deal didn't go through for the 69 Ralley Green Yenko Camaro, since it is still for sale at WorldWide Musclecars.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Its on EBAY now.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Don,
Thanks for the headsup. Here is the Ebay link for the Yenko. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...713545&rd=1 I am real curious if it will sell on Ebay, and if so, for how much. Buy it now option: 225K It's currently at 139K with 5 days to go. |
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
ID LIKE TO HAVE IT!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Is this a #s match car??
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Pretty doubtful anyone would buy it on E-Bay...
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
I agree with you Belair, I have my doubts too. At the same time, it would have been nice to see the Yenko go to a good home. The bidding is up to 152k, and I don't think it will get near the 225k mark in the next 4 days. I think you would have to use the Buy it Now option to buy this car.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
I e-mail them they said it was the correct block but not the original.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Whoa, this Rally Green Yenko doesn't have the original motor? I thought it was all numbers matching. 150 is pretty strong for a non matching car, 225 is huge! Although it gets real hard to put realistic numbers on anything since that Hemi Cuda conv sold for 2M and a grilled cheese sold for 38K! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Jeff...what do you base your comments on ??? Why is 150 strong and 225 huge ??? There are COPO Camaros that have a higher asking price than 150 !
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
I'm saying that's a huge number IF it doesn't have the original motor. If it does have the original motor then I would say it's pretty close to what I would expect today. I understand it's a top notch restoration, but we all know this car was for sale for $150K barely a year ago by the same dealer so all of the sudden it's worth $225K and they haven't done a thing to it!!! $75K profit just because they currently own it, that's pretty steep. I'm all for high prices in hopes of not losing money on my JL8 car when it's done, but we have to get realistic with some of these prices. So does this car have it's original motor or not, that's the big money question I guess?
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
"matching numbers" .....
does not NECESSARILY MEAN ...."original motor" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif .. ...it usually means "the motor that is now in the car has the correct casting and Date code for the car! ...but I have seen that car close up and it is top notch https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
It does not have the orig engine block. A Yenko is a Yenko and kinda like ZL1's, having the orig. block does not seem to have much of a effect anymore. Value seems based on quality of car and colors, options, etc. I saw the car at Vettefest a couple years ago and it got me really liking Rally Green. I believe there are several real buyers out there that would drop 200K on it tomorrow but I don't think it will get it done.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Matching numbers in my book should mean the engine and drivetrain components that the car left the factory with. But people are deceiving potential buyers with calling a numbers matching car one with correct castings and codes and restamps https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif. Today you always have to ask what the sellers definition of numbers matching is. It sucks that you really need to read between the lines. Whenever I have talked to sellers that seem knowledgeable about a car they are advertising it's always real interesting when they all of a sudden get stupid when you start to ask hard questions.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
With only one Yenko for sale it would only take two serious buyers to cause a bidding war. If someone wants one bad enough they might have to pay the price. I remember a few years ago ZL-1's selling for 225,000.

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
There is no doubt in my mind that a Yenko should pull dollars in the 200 range if the car is real nice. The price of all Camaro models have jumped significantly in the past year, so much so that collectors and aficiandos are shelling out high dollars for concourse and rotisserie restored cars as well as survivors. I personally know of at least three high dollar Z/28's that have broken the 6 figure range in the past 12 months and there is no indication that prices will do anything other than climb in the years ahead.
Just look at what 25K buys you these days. Nothing! And when you look at the cost of buying an unrestored car, then tear it down to restore it properly, the costs of parts will just about kill you. So much so that you can easily spend 50K - 70K or more when restoring it to concourse condition. Its also wise to note that the prices of rare parts have also gone up in accordance with the cars as of late. It's only going to increase, and two years from now, maybe it will be the Yenko demanding the Zl-1 coin once again. GPerhaps that would put the ZL/1 value up there with the Hemi Cuda Vert? Just my 2 bits! |
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Is 225 a realistic number for a '69 Yenko Camaro? I think so, when you look at some of the recent sales of restored Yenkos. Deuces in the 80+ range, Chevelles going for 150+ and a '69 Yenko Nova for 400. Part of this I think because it is easier to document a Yenko them some of the others.
And as Charley said, having the original engine or not really does not have that much effect on price. In part do to the fact that is is hard to detemine which parts are original and which ones are restamps (when done right). |
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
Just wondering, I know this car was at SCR1 and SCR2, but I can't find any pictures of it on the SCR pages, or even any mention that it was there...I'm sure its just an oversight, but i just now realized its not listed there as being an attendee.
|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Rallye Green
You're right, Joe! I thought it was some of the latter SCR's, though, not 1 or 2? But I've slept since then, so who knows!! That's Baker's car, right? I remember seeing it, but can't remember the year(s)...darn CRS! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif I know I've had it listed, but somewhere along the way it got dropped...so, someone set me straight on it's attendance and I'll get it updated...

It was definitely at SCR1, here's a pic of my bro standing in front of it... I also know it was at SCR2, not sure if it was at any others, maybe someone else remembers...hard to believe we've been to 7 of these already! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
