Re: 67 Z28
I'm sure that's Ken Boje's (68TopStock here) project 67Z which he recently sold to the same guy ([email protected]) whose name the website (www.camaro-plus.com) is registered to.
The car was originally Ermine white with black stripes and came from Moline Illinois. The car was raced at Carthage, Ill. from 1967 to 1970. This is a very late car, built in July 1967. Anyone interested in this car or any others listed on camaro-plus.com should be wary because my background check on Frank turned up a very shady character (i.e. full of https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif). |
Re: 67 Z28
I know it took awhile for Ken to get paid.

Re: 67 Z28
Yes, that is Ken's car that Frank Lewis recently purchased. He contacted me months ago looking for a '67 Z to replace the one he sold in the late 90's. I put him and Ken in touch (I didn't broker the deal - just helped them get together and did not gain anything personally) and they finalized the deal on their own. Yes, it did take about a month for Ken to get paid, but that was due to some miscommunication between the two of them (based on an email that Ken forwarded to me). Frank called me 2 weeks ago and told me that the car might be for sale because he had found another Butternut Yellow '67 Z that he liked better. As for the BS that Denis mentions, I can't comment on that. I've spoken to him numerous times as have a few friends that purchased parts from him and none of us have had any problems??? As always, proceed with cautiton https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: 67 Z28
It would be nice to see this car go to an owner who would appreciate its race history. I think it would look great on the track again. It eventually ended up with a CE/L88 in 1969. The second owner, Roger Davis, is known to several board members, he is still around, and wrenches at Cordova.

Re: 67 Z28
The car is available on eBay here.

Re: 67 Z28
The information that Ken posted about the L88, and being owned by Roger Davis is all correct. I worked with Roger for many years. He wrenches for, and helps Willie Devore from American Speed in Moline Il. Schonye

Re: 67 Z28
To bad he doesn't post some current pics of the car. If someone from the midwest buys this car, I will race them at Cordova!

You guys might want to read the thread at Camaros.net about this car and seller. http://www.camaros.net/forum/ultimat...c/2/10245.html

Re: 67 Z28
Kim,
I do believe it was Mills Chevrolet, in Moline. If the car is painted now, can't wait to see it. I can't believe he is still posting my old pics of the car. |
Re: 67 Z28
Wonder if I will ever get to see this car again in the midwest? The last set of keys made for the car, which went with it, were from some little hardware store in Monmouth, Illinois. I found it in Galesburg 15mi from there. This is 40 miles from LaHarpe. It is one of the very few cars with legitimate racing heritage, having raced at Cordova from 1967 through 1971. I am not posting this as a favor for the current owner, I just want to see one of my old cars go to an appreciating owner. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif
