1988 Corvette Challenge car

Not sure if this is the right forum to discuss this, but we have acquired a 1988 Corvette Challenge car.
One of 56 built for the SCCA series, this particular Vette is one of only 6 that was not sent to the Wixom plant for race preparations.

All 56 were built identically, with the sealed engine, but only 50 were made race ready with extinguishers, rollcage, etc.

This car was acquired from the MY collection of Mike Yager.

Any interest in this car out there? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Are you selling it ? You need to price it if it is for sale...and put it in the For Sale section ...I will move the thread if it is for sale...this is probably not the best site for this car anyway...

We were going to hang onto it for awhile, just wondering if anyone had any interesting discussion about it.

Everything is for sale at the right price!!!
If we did sell it, we'd probably accept somewhere in the 18k range.

Funny how the passenger side "bowtie" in the stripe is backwards. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

Might be on purpose so that they were slanted the same on both sides. ie to the rear
Looks better to have them slanted backwards gives the illusion of moving forward even when standing still even thought it is a little odd at first.

I'm sure it was done that way on purpose... look for pics of other Corvette Challenge cars and I bet they are installed the same way... it just looks funny to see the Chevy trademark put on in reverse.

Can you explain to me how the engine is "sealed"? To my untrained eye it looks like a regular engine.

Thanks

The factory painted the bolt-heads.

A few years ago I went to look at a flat bed trailer a guy had for sale. Turns out he is a retired GM engineer that worked on this project back when they put these cars together. He had two of the spare engines in his garage, new and never fired, one of which he said he would sell. He told me how the spares were numbered, but I don't remember anymore. If anyone is interested, I could dig out his phone number.

In my Ebay auction, a fella by the name of mrcorvette59 has question our claim o this being owned by Mike Yager....I posted his question and my response on Ebay for all to see, as we have nothing to hide.

I will also update the item to include the documentation we have from Mike Yager.
