L78 on LMC
Looks like a nice car. The last one he had sold super fast. I wanted to download the pics but it was gone so fast I didn't have time. Anyone have them? Marc

Re: L78 on LMC
I believe that's the one for sale now. He had another about a month ago. Maybe it's the same car and the deal fell through. I didn't have time to check out the last one so it very well could be the same car. He sells really nice stuff. Big coin I'm sure. Marc

Re: L78 on LMC
What's with the red shocks on the rear?? Looks like a pretty nice car. Has anyone seen it up close or know what they are asking?

Re: L78 on LMC
Headlight bezels are painted incorrectly too... it does look like a cool car though.

Re: L78 on LMC
He seems to put a heck of a lot of inspector's crayon on everything. I know this adds to the "just born" look but did they really have that many marks from the "box"?
|
Re: L78 on LMC
Some of the Canadian cars had a little more marking but not quite like that. My 70 Cdn L78 has a sticker on the inner fender and one set of xtra #'s on the firewall. These kind of photos don't show the resto details regarding paint, plating, etc. that you need to see. Up close and personal is the only way to buy a vehicle like this!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

Re: L78 on LMC
They have an L78 Camaro,an L78 300 Chevelle too...they are asking 72k for these last time I inquired....this car won't be much less if any ..
|
Re: L78 on LMC
Those guys are way over priced that 300 could have been bought for 50k ex somebodys car we all know was sold to a dealer in the midewest for 27k and the for 40k and the last owner wanted 50k. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gifSean

Re: L78 on LMC
I don't think there is a large group of people selling cars for the same price they paid !

Re: L78 on LMC
I live just a few mile away from LMC. I'll drop in and look at the vehicle. The last black 69 L78 Nova he sold last fall for approx 50K CDN. (38K USD) was not as well done as this one. Are these the correct door panels? All panels I have seen (Including mine on my deluxe interior) have the white trim running horizontal across the top of the panel as opposed to vertical as in this vehicle. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

However, this one now has the deluxe vinyl seat covers, and carpet, etc. So, it's hard tellin' what should be there. Maybe it had the standard interior, and was improved during the restoration? |
Re: L78 on LMC
At a glance, I thought the last one looked nicer than this one. Once again, I didn't get a chance to check out all of the pics. I can't tell if it's my computer screen or the car but the side trim doesn't seem to line up straight. Maybe I'm looking crooked https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Marc

I got an email from the person who bought this car? or the one before it from Legendary. He found my email via Kevin Suydam's site.
Here's the email he sent to me: [ QUOTE ] Finished in the factory colour of Tuxedo black with a black bucket interior. Powered by the numbers matching 396ci/375hp, L78 engine and a four speed transmission, power brakes, radio delete, dog dish rims with red line tires. A very rare Nova that is rust-free and has documentation (protect-o-plate). The resto is a few years old, but the car is still a nice head-turner, as you can see in the attached photos. This car war purchased at Legendary Motorcar Company. I have added a couple of guages, a tach and a points eliminator kit (still have points). If you haven't heard of Legendary, they do the TV show "Dream Car Garage" (http://www.legendarymotorcar.com/). They only deal in the real thing. The interior is Excellent - The black bucket interior is in very good condition, with no evidence of wear at all. The seats, carpets, panels, and dash have been extremely well taken care of. The seats are in good condition with no rips or tears. There is a small tear in the passenger side sail panel, and the window whiskers need replacing. The exterior speaks for itself in the attached photographs. This car scored an 87 out of 100. It would not take much to make this car perfect. It is a rare car since it is an L78, factory black, with buckets, 4-speed and radio delete. I am asking $60K USD. Let me know if you want any particular photos of the car and I will send them to you. Re: L78 on LMC
If you do look, can you get the trim tag info and VIN for the database?
Thanks, Greg |
Re: L78 on LMC
Car looks nice, love the wheels/tires!

Re: L78 on LMC
I was just contacted by Nick Smith LMC, price is $69,900 US dollars, but price can change without notice.

Interior shot [/ QUOTE ] I remember that black '70 when it was for sale.... and thinking that the shifter and floor hole looked funky, along with the right side of the speedometer area (where a clock might be). |
Re: L78 on LMC
I noticed that too. The shifter should be offset, like a bench seat car, with the bezel that wraps down the side of the tunnel. Nice car regardless!
|
Re: L78 on LMC
Looks like an aftermarket "flat stick" Hurst shifter with a '70 Deuce (or '69 Camaro w/ console) black painted ring and boot.

Re: L78 on LMC
Took a closer look at the engine shot. $69k cars don't have screw style hose clamps, in line gas filters and non oem battery cables. There are some other little things that jump out too. I'm not sure that this car was always a 4spd??
If this vehicle goes for that price then my portfolio just increased. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif wilma |
Re: L78 on LMC
Its a nice looking Nova, but personally, I'd be lookin for a little ol' small block Yenko Deuce if I was spending that much coin.
|
Re: L78 on LMC
Wilma, what made you say you aren't sure the car was always a 4sp ?
|
Re: L78 on LMC
The shifter setup looks odd to me and I have tracked a # of these cars the last couple of years and found quite a few that were converted. Maybe it is legit but I would like to see the POP and the vin on the trans as well as the other component ID's. You have to remember that most of these cars were raced back when and there are very few original unmolested ones left. Trans swaps were common, especially to auto from 4spd. Just my thoughts, gotta see the car to know the real story. TW

I see all the Nova photos and looked at some of the interior shots. Is there a partcular car you are referencing??

Re: L78 on LMC
I think that this is the same car that was advertised on this site over a year ago. The car was out of McHenry Illinois and was priced here at $26,500. I know that Legendary bought the car, so I assume that Mr. Patel is the current owner? The original post is #45066 dated 7/12/03, Cars for sale section.
Bel Air, I'd like to hear more about this "supply and demand" concept? Sounds a bit like this "capitalism" I keep hearing about. The Canadian government is working hard to eliminate the idea before it catches on. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
