Z/28 Sam I assume this is the one?? That primered rear spoiler really stands out huh?

Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
That is it Darren. Might be a complete car, but never fear one will spend at least $25,000 to do it up correctly. I am still waiting to see a $30,000-$35,000 Z/28 that really is all that it is cracked up to be, unless he is desperate for money. JMO Sam

Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
Unless my old eyes are really bad today, I think that primered spoiler is for a 67-68. To narrow for a 69. Nice project, but your right. Alot of money. And it's the things that are'nt obvious that really get you. Schonye

Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
You would know best Schonye. Even on good days, nothing ever appears to be what it really is. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif Might be an early spoiler, before Jan. of 69. Mine is shorter. This car was probably spoiler delete. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
Judging by the trunk stripes and no D80 code on the tag, I'd say that this car never did* have a trunk spoiler before the primered one was tacked on. Look at the white stripe overspray below the trunk weatherstrip--is that how they came from the factory? Just curious.
Neat car. Green interior--yuck. (Okay, here's where all the green interior guys can chime in...) In a pefect world you could score this car for $2500 and get to work having fun with it. Yeah, I guess I'm thinking in 1980 dollars. *Yes, it could have had a dealer-added spoiler that was removed and replaced with the primered one. Or, the primered one is the dealer-added spoiler with the paint stripped for some reason. Or, or, or... |
Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
Kinda odd, there is no stripe on the header or cowl.

Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
I think the spoiler cars were painted on the car, but not below the spoiler onto the trunk lid.

Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
Yeah, that's what I'm sayin' too. Since the stripes go down around under the trunk lid lip, any spoiler would have had to be added by either the dealer or an owner. No hood stripes though, so who knows what the real story is on this car.

[/ QUOTE ] Granted, I poorly worded my last statement. I meant to point out that there's no stripes on the upper valance panel nor on the panel in front of the windshield. Nevermind. |
Re: 1969 Z/28 for sale
I wish to retract my statement on the spoiler length. In discussions with Sam, and bkh it appears that early 69s had the shorter spoiler. My mistake. Schonye https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif

Not into projects sam already went that route with a 62 corvette fuelie and realized you can usually buy a car cheaper all ready done...you really have to love doing the resto work and be fairly handy because if your paying a shop it sucks up money faster than 2 ex wives https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif
