1 Attachment(s)
Unloaded the car and drove to a store. On the way back is starts making quite a racket. Mike at concours had not left yet so he ended up hauling the car to a Chevy Dealer in Garland Texas last night. They were very Cool and stored the car inside overnight. Today they loaned us a stall and tools..

Re: My first day of Power Tour
Charlie,
I'm considering coming down to the Davenport Iowa leg when you arrive. Not sure if I should just drive alone, or bring the "Little Hoss" car, just to have it there. Your thoughts please, and from others. |
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Take the Little Hoss with you. There will be many that would love to see it.
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Charlie, LVCamaro,
I am not sure of the route up from St. Louis, but if you are taking Hwy 61, which I think you are, to Davenport, you will come through Burlington, just in from the MO border. This is the town Herb Fox street raced "Little Hoss". If this is the case, you will be just 18 miles from LaHarpe. Maybe if Helen is not going to Davenport, you can just drop in for some coffee and cookies. If you do, just stop by the F&S and Jerry will give you directions to her house, just a few blocks away. The old Gibb dealership is on the 9/94 junction. I'll try and copy a detail map from the area for those who are interested, in at least visiting the old dealership building. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif |

Re: My first day of Power Tour
Also saw Pantera and his girlfriend stealing parts off cars..

Re: My first day of Power Tour
Yeah Larry was there early and long.. Must be nice to live right across the street https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif I was there for a little over an hour before my back and feet finally gave out carrying my 1 yr old daughter around.. (stroller wouldn't fit in the trunk). So we did some crusing around in the GTO and looking at all the cars that were in line to get in.. There were A LOT of cars in that several mile long line. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif

Re: My first day of Power Tour
Does anybody know the route the power tour is taking from Milwaukee to Green Bay...I have heard two routes, the first was taking I43 which goes along the Lake Michigan (and stopping at Aloha in Port Washington for lunch) the second is taking Hwy 41 and stopping at Road America at noon???...Thanks....
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Probably both as options. I think they can go anywhere they want, as long as, they end up where they're supposed to.
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
For any/all interested participants and observers of the Tour, there is a lunch stop on Friday at Aloha Automotive, Port Washington, WI. CYA there...
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Steve - The Chevelle looks SUPER-COOL, can't waite to see it in person....what's the estimated time of arrival for Aloha?
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Arrival times will vary with the individual, but a good guess would be 11:30. Should know more on Wednesday.
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Charley was seen in the hotel parking lot this morning with a cannister of freon, so hopefully he'll get his A/C system charged and operating for today's leg of the Tour.

Re: My first day of Power Tour
Steve,
Since the car did not make it to Dallas for the start of the tour I have not seen it in person, can you post a picture of the front end of the HRSS? Kelly |

Charley, LVCamaro and all,
I spoke with Helen today, I understand the tour is coming up Hwy 67 out of St. Louis, to Davenport. That is the route I always take to and from to LaHarpe from St. Louis. You will be just 12 miles or so from LaHarpe. The good new is Helen and Nancy will be joining the tour just north of Macomb, at the junction of Hwy 67 and Hwy 9. She will be in her '02 ZL1. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif I am planning on coming from the North, and will hopefully avoid some of the traffic if I'm early enough. Is Matt Murphy on the tour? ps. when you come through Beardstown, the old track is just south of town, about a mile east. Any old timer in town will know exactly. This pic is from Beardstown, 8/10/67. |

Ken that is a bad-as$ vintage pic! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: My first day of Power Tour
Just got back from checking out the Power Tour. Wow, saw lots of neat cars, including Charley's "El Mule", with the twin turbos and all, and of course, spent alot of time checking out Sandlin's 2004 SS Chevelle. Looks even better in person. And it may have cost me, as Tommy let Rob slide behind the wheel. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Just got back from Springfield...simply AWESOME. Got to see Clill & the Mule, Larry Christensen & the Twister(?), Tommy White and the Aloha/Imagine boys with the HR454SS, Frank Radake, Jim Parks?, saw/heard the Berger/GMMG/Harrell car, saw an '02 ZL-1 (#29 I think), LOTS of GMMG/Hot Rod Edition Camaros, and literally THOUSANDS of other cool cars. If you can find the time, get to a tour stop...you will NOT be disappointed.
|
Re: My first day of Power Tour
Yes I went to Walmart and bought a can of Freon but there was a clamp in the way. Later on at the show the GM contracted suport crew came and spent a bunch of time fixing my AC. They work for Wheel to Wheel in Mi but are hired by GM to assist any GM owners with car problems. While they were under my car it started pouring down rain. I now have AC. They also helped a Camaro with a broken pushrod by swiping a pushrod and rocker arm from one of the display engines. Great guys....And Budnate..I did used to have a CFC license..

Re: My first day of Power Tour
I was just teasing ya, have fun.

Re: My first day of Power Tour
I'm trying not to think about all those cars going through the tollways...man there's going to be some P.O.'d people because it's going to take them longer to get through the tollway because of the Power Tour.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gifbummer
