Cruise Night after the LaHarpe Show

I live in Colchester IL and have just heard that Macomb, IL, approx 20 miles from LaHarpe has a cruise night planned for the evening of the Gibb Show, August 7th. I wanted to pass this info on if there was people planning on being around that evening and heading to Macomb.

Andy I think the cruise night is friday night. Not sat. night. Kim https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Cruise Night after the LaHarpe Show

Kim is correct. It is the Friday evening prior to the show the next day in La Harpe.

Kim, will you be bringing the Schwin bicycle this year or something motorized? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Guys, According to the flyer I got and the add that was just in the local paper they all say August 7th, I will do some calling to verify this all though.

Re: Cruise Night after the LaHarpe Show

The 6th Annual Fred Gibb Memorial Open Car Show flyer I have right here in front of me (for August 7th, 2004) states at the bottom of the form just immediately above the Pre-Registration the following:

SPECIAL: Cruise in with the SUPER CARS Aug 6th at the City Square in Monmouth, IL.

Music, games and food for the whole family. 6:00 - 10:00 PM

Re: Cruise Night after the LaHarpe Show

Hang on guys, you are both right. Monmouth is Fri. night and Macomb is Sat. night. Everyone knows the layout in Monmouth, Macomb is trying to get a monthly cruise going, They ask me if we would have a problem following our show,I say the more the merrier. We will make it a 3 day weekend. Thanks for the input. Can't wait to see the car Kim. ttul Ken https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Annie,

Macomb would not know how to act if you rolled in to town in your "02" and parked it on the square!

Jeff,

You have to ask!!!!????? He11, Cumby's middle name is Trouble! However, and I refuse to admit this in public, he is an absolute Dear and a very good friend to all. Even if he does get a kick out of stirring the pot now and then, just ask JD ("sloppy wet kiss")and Howie("nice a$$") ; their qoutes not mine!!
As for Muffin, the keys are all yours! According to Cumby, I don't know how to drive so the task is all yours. Do you mind if I at least ride along as co-pilot? If the flight arrangements you speak of are what you mentioned before, Muffin will be our only hope as to getting you to Peoria on time Sunday morn. Well.............. there is the option of a certain '69 ZL1 making the trip, she could do it with time to spare.......Dang Jeff, we had better hope BKH and Mr C don't read this or you and I will both be walking!

Annie.......and I thought you wouldn't "kiss and tell". Now everyone here on the board knows I'm a "sloppy wet kisser". How embarassing ! ! ! ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

You notice the "Old Fart" (a.k.a. Cumby) didn't bring this up ! ! ! ! I now know who I can trust and who I can't ! ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

And by the way Annie, I know a certain United States Marshal here in Des Moines that would probably ride with you since you only back into ditches and not cut medians ! ! ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

D....

As long as the 'Sloppy Wet Kiss' you offered was planted on Cumby and not me, I have nothing to fear. BTW,I have been told 110 oct is not only good for our cars but also works well at removing tar from one's lips. You might not be able to eat for a week but at least you won't have black lips........

Frankie,

The tar pit remark was fantastic! However, I feel it is necessary to clue you in, Cumby was born before tar was discovered! He created the maps the dinosaurs used to avoid said tar pits!

"If the black car makes it to Monmouth/LeHarpe....you are on! But I get to ride along.....and I make one awful passenger!"

That's true Andy, she's a terrible passenger. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif When the speedometer passes the century mark in fourth gear she gets a little nervous. If that happens, just hit the window button for her side and she'll fly out the window. PROBLEM SOLVED!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Don't worry about her though; she'll probably pull out the mini-broomstick she carries with her and land safely somewhere! She always turns up again somehow. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Hmmmmm, cartographer for dinosaurs huh? This one won't pass without notice! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif Stay tuned........

All kidding aside Andy, she's a pretty Cool Lady with some SERIOUS cars and a tremendous amount of knowledge. Dennis Hartweg shared everything he knew/learned with Annie and she's now doing her best to keep that alive. Sit in the car? Not a problem. Just walk up and introduce yourself. You'll see why we all love her. A bunch of us give each other Crap pretty regurlarly here but it's ALL in fun. We hammer on each other because of who we are. Andy,

Both OrigLS6(Dennis) and Belair62 (Bob) are right on the money as far as what a fantastic group this site has attracted. We may kid and joke but we all respect one another and there are many folks here with more car knowledge than any person could ever hope to find in one place. Best of all, they are willing to share said knowledge.

It is great to have you join the site and I look forward to meeting you in Monmouth/LaHarpe at which time I will twist your arm to join us in Collinsville for the Reunion on Sept 3rd and 4th.
