They did this car justice with great text,& detailed pictures,as well as one action shot from last September in Collinsville.I saw it there,and didn't realize it was it's Debut,where Joel R. Autographed it.

Are you guys just kidding??? I don't have my copy yet and I have no idea what pictures they used. All I can think of is when my son & I raced it I smeared wax on the quarters so the rubber wouldn't stick to the paint.

Congrats Mark, and don't feel bad, the June issuse wasn't even at my local Borders when I stopped in there last night. Looks like the whole east coast is last to get a looksie. Here's a pic of Tom Shaw shooting Joe Sweezy's '69 DH Camaro in the SCR6 parking lot. It is a shame that they didn't have the decency to send you a early Issue out of their first batch. Oh well..!!! But just the knowledge of having your car on the cover is a real charge.

Dumb question:
Is there any possibility Mark's car was in Daytona Beach in '69? I remember a guy attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ. then with one like it. He was from NY. He never opened a book. Just street raced and flunked out. (don't remember his name, huge guy with blond hair). I remember he had Smokey Yunick do some "tweaking" on the L-88.

Verne, that is a Good Question--I believe 2 of the 3 cars are Blue &amp; White L-88's. Kevin S. has the other one like mine but he has a Hood Tach. So maybe a 50/50 chance that you saw mine??

The blue one I remember in Daytona did not have a hood tach or emblems (at all) on the front fenders. I don't recall if there were emblem holes left behind.

The Phase III Camaro was my ultimate dream. When the famous "Wanted Poster" first came out in a magazine, I cut it out and hung it on the wall in my parents' garage. The very same one is still hanging on the cabinet door in my shop today. It's not in the same shape it used to be....................but neither am I.
