Kelsey Hayes wheels
 

WANTED - 1 or a set(2) of original Kelsey Hayes Wheels to fit the front of a 70 1/2 Camaro. These are the 20 spoke, 15" x 5" wheel and must be streight and true. All help would be appreciated!! These are for a DH car.

Have you talked to LVcamaro?
I believe his 1970 DH Camaro had them,per Rick N. research.
I think he got three of these wheels with the car when he bought it from Chad.

Check with Brian Henderson (bkhpah) and also Kim Howie. Both had one or more at one time. Good luck!

I have on set left that are 5 on 5. They can be re-machined to a 4 3/4. They are 15X6. Hard wheels to find...BKH

Kim,
Am not sure of the width, but will be measuring it this weekend and then know for sure. I think they are 15 x 5. Have a pair but one is bent slightly and need to find one that is streight.

Thanks for the good picture!! I think mine are 15 x 5 but not sure. Am measuring this weekend so I will know for sure. Do you have any spares. One of mine is slightly bent, so only need one but will consider a pair.

www.stocktonwheel.com can repair your bent wheel. Look how they repaired the Cragar Super trick on their website.

I bought the Camaro from Harry in about 1973 after the accident in Tulsa. I have owned it for about 30 years. Yes it is going to be restored. This is about all I can say right now.

Dan; FYI, a friend just bought a set of Torque Thrusts from that outfit. He said they arrived in pretty good condition, and pretty much as advertised.

Restored wheels really look good!! I got in contact with Frank at Stockton Wheel Service and said he could streighten the bent one that I have for $125.

Joe; I've had Stockton wheel do work on various wheels over the years. They do a good job and their work is guaranteed. I had one wheel arrive once that I didn't like the chrome plating, and they took it right back and fixed it, no charge and paid the shipping.

Thanks for checking on the size of the wheel for me! Just checked the size on the car and they are 15" x 4" so the one that you have isn't the right size. Looks like the wheel that you have is in nice shape. Wish it was a 4" !

I found this cool old dealer ad flyer for these wheels.. Looks like they came in at least 2 varieties, that standard "Stripper" and the "Satin Stripper" The backside of the flyer lists a ton of sizes and widths for just about every make and model imaginable. Looks like they were available in 4", 6" and 7" widths, and ONLY in 15" diameter. It appears no 5" wide versions were made, at least not at the time this ad was published...double check your wheels, I bet they are 6" wide, not 5". Thanks for all the help! I was thinkng for some reason a long time ago that the wheels were 5". Upon measuring them I have recently found out that they are 4". This is more realistic since most drag front wheels are 3 1/2" to 4" wide. This leads to, measure first then talk!!!!!
