65 Z16 Chevelle on Ebay
Just saw this listed on Ebay. There was a discussion here a few months ago about these cars. Who is the guy that has all the VIN numbers for the original cars. This car is about 40 miles from where I live but I'm in Minnesota and won't be home for another week or more. I would like to see this car.

James,
There is a classified "cars for sale" section on this forum. From Ebay or otherwise, please post in the proper section. Thanks for your help. |
Re: 65 Z16 Chevelle on Ebay
I can't post there unless it has been changed in the last few days. As far as that goes, you can't either because we have not made a donation to the site.

They're talking about this same car over on Team Chevelle. There might be more input over there on this.

Re: 65 Z16 Chevelle on Ebay
Thanks for the info. I checked out what they had to say about the car. It appeares that it is either not a Z16 car or it is missing a lot of the key components that were installed on all Z16s, clock, multiplex system, tilt wheel, wrong steering wheel,....etc.

They're built on the boxed Convertible frame.

Re: 65 Z16 Chevelle on Ebay
is the trim tag real?? I thought the M option code shows it as a Z16. I see on Team Chevelle, that Mickey says they lifted the pics from his site. No doubt he can say if the car is real or not

Re: 65 Z16 Chevelle on Ebay
It seems that the guys on Team Chevelle may be changing their minds about wheather this is a real Z16 or not. They have decodes the trim tag and say that it it is indead the correct trim tag numbers, the car is real. Here are the decoded numbers.

Re: 65 Z16 Chevelle on Ebay
But the car does not have the original block. Someone out there is going to spend a lot of money on the car in non-driveable condition to spend another load of money restoring the car. This all turns back to the main question. Is this Z-16 worth anything without its original motor? Same with a COPO, or Yenko, or any regular production Z-28 or LS6?

[/ QUOTE ] I think if it's real someone will restore it...COPO and YENKO without original motor is fairly common and as you can see...yes they are worth something....CE block doesn't seem to hurt them as much as an RPO car... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: 65 Z16 Chevelle on Ebay
Reserve has been met at $45,000. Someone must think it's real.
