The car is obviously not a factory 427 car but could be a 427 transplant from the dealer. Could be something depending on where the car was sold new.

The Nova I did owned was a 427 converted Gibb done at Dick Harrell it is the sister car to Ray Morrison's Both were blue and 3 cars from each other. It was a L72 motor not a ZL-1 Kim [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

wouldn't a square port hi po l72 engine have an aluminum intake from the factory.. says the original comes with the car and if that is it in front of the hood it looks like cast iron to me..

Sorry Kim... I meant L-72 not ZL1. I have an L-72 in my Corvette. Yes it has square port heads and yes it has an aluminum intake.

Marlin,I sent him a E-mail it stated "sorry they never made a 427 Nova from the factory" His answer, I quote " well your wrong this was dealer installed bb car . and weretrying right now to make outthe dealship that did this conversion . the car has a metal tag on the rear of the trunk lid from some performance dealership in oaklahoma so if your done being a di-- f--- you ashhole" his exact words I again sent him a e-mail very nice saying there are no factory 427 nova's and his answer "but i guess its easier for you to sys you stuid comment via email rather that in someone face chickens---!! Hey guys, sorry to bust your bubbles, but this car may be legit. I have been helping them reseach the dealer listed on the metal tag. Seems there was/is such a dealer in OK selling hi-performance cars.

I have lived in Tulsa all my life and have been very active in the car business and have never heard of Dennis Tuttle INC. Where were they located. I have a lot of contacts if it is in this part of the state. If I can be of any help let me know?

I just had to ask. Emailed him about taking a pic of the metal tag. Here is what he said.

"the only thing left is the 2 cast studs that are still in the trunk lid. this cae can be driveb or inspected at any time with at least on days notice"

The news on the car from stevesnovasite is that the auction was stoped, and according to Todd, the guy selling the car, it was sold to a collector for an undisclosed amount of money.

Here is a link from the Nova site of photos of this car. Looks like it had a dealer emblem on the trunk deck as well as the rear tail panel trim.

The SS emblem makes sense, I am not that aware of the emblem placement on the Nova's, car looks like someones home conversion, maybe a big block car to start with, can anyone tell from the photos if it has the big block core support?

It does look to have a big block radiator core support, but is hard to tell if that is totally true, or just a HD cooling unit from a 73/74, but does look to have the larger opening. So at least it looks to be a possible BB nova from the factory, maybe more after it left, and before it was sold? I would love to find out who bought it and what he/she knows [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif[/img]
