Peer wheel advice sought...

Cragar S/S's or Torque Thrusts???? |
Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
CRAGERS ALL THE WAY!!!! Especially on a black car. Torque thrusts are like belly buttons. Every one has em!

Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
I just installed a set of TT-D's on an all black 69 Chevelle. I could email you a picture later if you want.

Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
You guys have Belly Buttons?
I'd Go with Torque Thrusts. |

But I'm gonna be using wheels that's kinda both. They are Cragar S/X aluminums.
These should look pretty good on a '68 or '69 Nova...(once I find one I can afford....) |
Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
Look in the past feature cars...there is a handsome black 427 Chevelle there with 1970 TT T-70 wheels and redline radials...8 1/2 rear...7 front. Nice Elky Charley..very nice !! Hey Frank...only RePop TT's are like belly buttons...not vintage ones.

i agree, vintage torq thrusts are far from belly button wheels...Straight spoke torq thrusts are tuff to beat IMO. If you DO find a set of old ones, be careful with 14's if you have disc brakes up front... I have had several sets that would not clear the front caliper brackets. Here's a close-up example of a straight spoke, "old school" torq thrust... too cool! https://www.yenko.net/attachments/55116-mags2.jpg

Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
Ed, you are Correct!! I think this picture is from the Chevelle Convention in Shamberg, Ill. The Chevelles need deep dish wheels because of their big fender wells. Nice Picture. Mark

Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
I'll go with Charley's advice, painted steelies with dogcaps and red stripes

Marlin....quit sucking up to the moderator and eat your popcorn !

Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
Me too. TT's are great, especially the vintage ones but it's hard to beat steelies and dishes on Black.
Sinister Stealth! Let the car speak for itself. |

Here's the sinister look! [/ QUOTE ] That's what I'm talkin' about! If it don't make it faster, leave it off the option list! |
Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
That does look tough...I saw Charley scarf up all those white fans at Vettefest a few years back.

Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
Ed G. - Thanks for the Mark Hassett photo; that is the look I'm searching for...thick but vintage - which seems like a science when it comes to Chevelles.
Mark H. - Sent you a Private Message...& post some more photos of that sweet thing... Edward. |
Re: Peer wheel advice sought...
looks strong don't it? I second more pics of that thing Mark.
