Site with some good parts

Found this site through Team Chevelle. WWWPartzSurplus.com. He has some NOS and hi-po parts. Nickey hood, JL8, crossram parts, ect.

They also have a ad listing their site on Camaros.net. I Emailed them about their Endura but never heard back.. Their Prices seem abnormally low....Too Low to be True almost..

Re: Site with some good parts

Exactly what i was thinking... I just sent them an e mail saying i would take about 75% of the parts they have listed! We'll see if i ever hear back... probably a way to get your e mail address so they can spam me later! Come to think of it, I think the e mail adress was the same as belairs.

Well, I have not heard back from them either. Has anyone got a response from them?

I got a nice reply back last night. I agree that the prices seem low in some cases and it makes me a little nervous, but nothing ventured nothing gained right? Here goes...

I have also got a reply from them. I will let you know, good or bad. Roger

Re: Site with some good parts

I also received a reply, short, but to the point. The price seems real good, but I cannot afford to take the chance and send the money and get shafted, unless someone has had some positive transactions with this guy. Anyone from Virginia deal with this guy? I requested pics on one item I am interested in and will let you folks know what I receive.

Re: Site with some good parts

Actually Tony, I think I am going to pass. I was just looking at the pics that they sent me of the cowl plenum breather again and every one has a different background? Maybe I am being a little cautious, but don't you think they would take all the pics at the same time? Roger, you're probably after the same part - just in case you are, the top corner of the duct is broken off. Still a fair price for $1,750 if the deal is real. If this guy is for real, there are some great buys to be had.

scuncio 10-21-2003 03:32 PM

Re: Site with some good parts

I agree--I requested pics of a few things and received either one fuzzy pic of something, or multiple pics of something else taken under different backgrounds. My conscience says "don't do it" but the prices are tempting.

Anyone near Abington, VA who could swing over and take a look first hand? If this is guy is on the level he shouldn't have a problem with it. Take a pocket full of money and a trailer too. Those prices are great. It really sucks being broke....

I have a friend who lives 10 minutes away, but if you read his terms and FAQ's he discourages pickups at his warehouse. I also received an email back, I will let you know as things move forward.

THE SAME EXACT PICTURES FROM ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO WHEN I SOLD THEM ON EBAY SHOWING BACK OF MY Z AND FRONT OF SNAP ON BOX IN MY GARAGE.BUYER BEWARE!

I thought it was a little strange that this guy keeps misspelling the name of the city "AbingTON" ... it's "AbingDON." Who knows...I'm waiting to see what he says when/if he gets back to me.

We are NOT parts dealers, and this is pretty much a one-time sale. If you are looking for something other than what is listed, do not hesitate to e-mail, as I am in contact with a number of collectors around the country- and will be more than happy to pass your inquiry along. We still haven't inventoried everything, so be sure to check back if you don't see what you want.

[/ QUOTE ]

It took more than a minute to put the page together, so why would he go to the trouble if he is not pimping parts????

Jeff H 10-21-2003 07:49 PM

Re: Site with some good parts

I would still think somebody is close enough to visit his shop and verify he is there with the parts he has listed for sale. If he doesn't allow visitors then I would definitely be cautious. I've been burned on parts like these and if it sounds like the prices are too good, then that is a warning sign. I hope the guy is legit and some people can get parts they really need.

camarojoe 10-22-2003 05:22 AM

Re: Site with some good parts

I'm gonna say this is a hoax. The guy e mailed me back too... I asked about 3 items, each one had a totally different looking pic than the next, various sizes to the pics and quality levels... like they were pirated from an ebay ad or something. I asked specifics about one item, something he would actually need the item in from of him to see, and he came back a few hours later and said that particular item had been sold, and did i want the other 2 items? He offered them at an even LOWER price than listed on the site, and offered to ship for free if i sent payment. I asked where to send the money and to please e mail me his phone number so I could ask a few more things, and he got really defensive and gave me some story about how he gets 100 inquiries a day and if he gave out his number the phone wouldnt stop rinnging... i agree with that... and he'd be cleaned out in an hour too... if the stuff actually existed! I think the whole story is Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure sounds fishy to me, good luck to anyone brave enough to send money to this guy... How many of you bought the 500.00 NOS endura bumper? i bet he's been selling that all day!

scuncio 10-22-2003 06:29 AM

Re: Site with some good parts

Guy emailed me back tonight as well and told me the NOS Endura had been sold. Guess we all wanted that one, huh. I didn't get a phone number out of him either but he did explain that he's a retired consultant to the "aviation industry" and he's not a parts dealer, and that he has so much interest in this stuff that he'd rather not deal with anyone who's having second thoughts about his integrity. And that would be whom?

Denis 10-22-2003 07:23 AM

Re: Site with some good parts

He had no problem giving out his phone#, name, email, and address on the camaros.net classifieds here.

Re: Site with some good parts

Well, the zip code is not a VA zip code, the street address doesn't exist, but the phone number is for someone in Abingdon, VA. I'd still like to have someone show up at his place before I'd send any money.

Re: Site with some good parts

A friend who live within 10 miles contacted him via email and he refuses to do any over the counter sales for security reasons. Meaning he will NOT meet with anyone, he will only deal through the mail. At this point I am very skeptical....

Re: Site with some good parts

On his FAQ page he seems to be very interested in scams.
Says he doesn't use "private auctions on E-bay" or other complex transactions.
Doesn't like "electronic payment schemes" like Pay-Pal and even lists two anti PayPal web sites then warns about the International Nigeria money scam

[/ QUOTE ] "Security reasons" sounds more like, "you mail me the money, and I'll make sure I'm 'securely' in the other side of the country by the time you track me down." Anyone who refuses to allow someone to come and inspect or pick up their parts in person usually has something to hide. And if this guy is so into shipping his stuff, why wouldn't he just list his parts on ebay and let it all go to the highest bidder? I'm sure he'd do alot better than his asking prices. It's very possible that this is just some shady character with a bunch of old ebay auction pics saved on his hard drive that he e-mails out when fishing for suckers. Who hoards all these NOS parts and doesn't know their value? I'd love to hear from someone who's actually sucessfully purchased something from him. If I was the one who just mailed out $500 for the NOS endura, I'd sure be keeping my fingers crossed. I wouldn't be surprised if there were several people sending their money for this NOS endura already, since it probably doesn't exist anyhow why not sell it twice. This deal has "bad idea" written all over it IMO.

Re: Site with some good parts

I received a email instructing to make the money order
out to F. Cummings OR D. Sharp. here is what was in the email

"Make your check, money order, or cashier's check payable to "D.Sharp or
F. Cummings". Please make sure the "OR" is between the names so that
either of us will be able to process and ship your order in case one or
the other is out of town- as frequently happens!

Send it to:
Frank Cummings
1631 Wyndale Road Rd
Abington, VA 24212

All items will go UPS, (collect for the shipping charges) so you can
settle up with them on your end for the shipping costs

As soon as I get confirmation that funds are on the way, I'll add the
"SOLD" notation next to the listing on the website, and consider it off
the market.

the fish gets stinkier but the minute!

SHOR,
NOT TO MY KNOWLEDGE. I TOO INQUIRED AND AGAIN THE SAME KIND OF RESPONSES. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT LIVES ABOUT 20 MIN FROM WHERE THIS GUY SAYS HE LIVES AND MY FRIEND HAS NEVER HEARD OF HIM AS FAR AS CARS AND PARTS ARE CONCERNED AND THERE IS NO PHONE LISTING FOR HIM EITHER. SOUNDS LIKE A RAT TO ME.... KP

Re: Site with some good parts

Has anyone interested in buying his items told him they are a little uneasy, given the circumstances, and asked for a reference of someone who he has sold an item to? I know I try and make sure people are comfortable with me as a person when dealing on the net.

I think Shor is right. I beleive UPS will not ship collect, unless the person has a UPS business account.

I ship quite a bit of parts from my shop with UPS. They always include the shipping in the total the driver is to pick up. Only way I do not pay the shipping charge is if someone sends a "call tag"....Tony

He's advertising on the Team Chevelle site also.
I am waiting for a friend who saw his ad and lives over there to confirm anything for me.His Chevelle parts seem reasonable, but need more info.
As far as not accepting Money in person, maybe he's a Leper.
