Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
More info to jog the memory, perhaps! This is a Dusk Blue non-RS car with RPO JL8, first owner was from Rockaway, NJ. Anyone?

Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
I think that is the same car I asked about a while ago. I have the information from the p-o-p as well from the guy who has the p-o-p now. I don't think the car has turned up yet.

Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Jeff,
I have been meaning to ask you this for a while now. What are Minilite wheels? -Dan |
Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Those are the wheels that a lot of the T/A race teams used in the late 60's early 70's including Penske. They were lightweight magnuesium and strong. Here's a pitcure of the new aluminum version that they are making. http://www.minilitewheels.com/Images...-side-2-lg.jpg

Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Hey Jeff,
Probably the same guy then. I was just inquiring about some parts and he told me the whole story. Would be quite a find from the description he gave me. |
Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Do you know who is reproducing the minilite wheel and where they can be purchased? Thanks

Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
oops!!!!!!
it had the JL8 option |
Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Bill, I got my new Minilites from Main Street Motorsports in CT. They are still made by Minilite in England, but they're aluminum now instead of magnesium.

Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Were those wheels actually an option on the JL-8?
|
Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
uh, no. They were aftermarket. They do look cool though!
|
Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
No, the Minilites were popular for road racing because they were the lightest, strongest wheels.
|
Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Jeff, Thanks for the info on the minilites. I have looked for years for a real set and have never found them. It probably doesn't matter because if I did find them (real ones) I would have choked on the price. The repros look nice and I will contact these guys to see about sizes and price

Re: Do you have this '69 Z28?
Can you post a link here? Well I guess I will find out. Here's a link (I hope) to the Minilite web site for anyone who has any interest. http://www.minilitewheels.com/
