1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. miles
1 Attachment(s)
1970 Nova Hugger Orange 6cyl, 3sp, original; paint, int, trunk, tires, shocks, on and on, lots of paper work. Has to be one of the nicest unrestored Novas in the county. In a very rare color. I can't bring myself to clone it. 17,500.00 I know thats too much for a 6 cyl Nova but it's just a special old car. It almost killed me to type this add. Please, don't buy this car. Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. miles
Is that the one Wayne Bushey used to own?

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. miles
Yes, same car. Very cool Nova and neat color.
I had a chance to see it when Wayne still owned it and shortly after they brought it up from Texas. It gave me mixed emotions too...... such a great candidate with the original body and interior to put a nice and fun drivetrain in (can you say big block?). But also, it is a very unique piece of Nova history with its 5,800 original miles and condition, and it would be a shame to mess with it too. Such a debate, right Mark? What to do with this car is about to drive me nuts. I mean for goodness sake its just a 6cyl nova. Mark

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
It needs an L72 real bad.

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
Well, since you have another great car all ready and waiting for a fine big block, I guess you won't have to do anything with it.

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
It has a set of wider steel wheels and radials that go with it. The int. is black standard with a rubber mat and very near pefect. The car was sold new by Mustang Chevrolet in San Angelo,Texas http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...cks%205(1).jpg

All NNN members can check their August 2002 issue. This Nova is the cover car, and has an interesting article inside.

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
Boy, that's a tough call. Like you said, it's just a 6 cyl Nova. But with that low of mileage and a unique color, it's hard to touch it. But on the other hand, it's a perfect candidate for a swap. D@mmed if you do, d@mmed if you don't!

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
It's not 'just a 6cyl Nova', it is probably the best reference Nova out there. It is best to leave it alone, there are plenty of other cars to hot-rod.
If I had the money & the space to store it properly, I would have bought it when Wayne was selling it several years ago. |
Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. miles
Nice example of how things were car---how come a bread and butter car like this only has 5800 miles?------if you can--- this car should go in the history part of your garage.------------JoeG

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
The original owner Charlie McDonald 72 was when he bought it. He drove it to town once a week for about 3 years until his health started to fail . He died in 1976 and his wife did not have a drivers permit so it sat in a block garage until his wife Texas Pearl past away in 1993. Joe I wish I had a history part of my garage but the problem is I don't have enough "history" in my bank account. Mark

[/ QUOTE ] I think you missed my sarcasm in that comment Marlin. That's a sweet looking Nova and it would be very difficult to alter it. Good thing I don't have any money, my Hugger Orange JL8 and a Hugger Orange Nova would be a cool combination. I would only need a Hugger Orange COPO to go with it. |
Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
I got the sarcasm! I know many guys would love to stuff a 502 in that car, but it's too good of a reference car!

Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
Super neat Nova. My '67 Z28 street car came out of the same dealership. I love the dealership emblem with the horse rearing up on its back legs and the word Mustang. Nice bit of irony on a Camaro. I'm with Marlin. Hopefully the car will find its way to an owner who will leave it as it is.

NO, We have a Brand NEW ZL-1 Block cring for a home, thought it would look awesome with a coul plenium, bench seat M-22 with 4:56 gears. Next to the Hugger Orange YENKO.
Just a thought.. "MOF" |
Re: 1970 Hugger Orange Nova for sale 5800 orig. mi
The new owner would not only get a great car, you would also receive(at no extra charge) your very own Marlin hood orniment held firmly in place with logging chains. N.I.M.G
Seems like everyone thinks this car should be stored away in someone elses garage!
Dont get me wrong... I am a purist when it comes to keeping cars original. I would wish someone would buy this car for a museum and stick it away. But this car has no significance other than being a beautiful low mile original car and apparently that isnt enought to entice anyone to buy it for that purpose. If it is worth saving then someone should buy it. I think the next guy who says what an amazing piece of history the car is should be the one who buys it an preserves it!!!!! Re: N.I.M.G
I agree. Bushey has everything off of this car documented anyway. Drop in a V-8

Re: N.I.M.G
You can never learn enough from a car like this one, it should always be a reference car - and left alone. I'll unchain myself from the front bumper now

Re: N.I.M.G
I guess it's going to stay with me. Thanks for the feedback on the car. It must not be time for it to go. Mark
