Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
It's got a Van Nuys or early Norwood trim tag. Maybe someone knows how to download and blow up the tag to see what it says.
Were there any VN COPOs? |
Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.

Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
Right. Like I said, I have no clue when it come to COPO Camaro cars. It is often found when a rare car has a cheap price something is wrong. Hence a $64K COPO Camaro?

Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
Its a VN car and he knew it was tough to determine if it was or was not real....he basically said there is no proof it was NOT real...it had frame ties and was really not all that nice inside or out...

Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
This car has been discussed quite a few times. I think the AC plate on the top of the firewall tells you it's not a real COPO since you couldn't get AC with the L72. So I wonder how it ended up with a numbers matching 427 in it?

Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
69 motion... my eyes arent that good. i live in sarasota and saw the car. looked about 5 minutes and walked away.
i heard " we are selling the car as what it was represented to us as when we purchaced it" they know its a tribute, clone, fake, copy or whatever people are calling these cars nowadays. its a shame a guy is eventually going to lay down a big chunck of money for a plane old camaro. i hope they pay for it. its not right!!! Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
Well, if they actually purchased the car, then saying they are representing the car as it was purchased is still fraudulent. If they have it on consignment, then they can make up anything they want since it's not their car and they're not responsible for verifying the authenticity. All it takes is 1 person to point out the AC valve bracket and they now know it's not a real, number's matching COPO and can no longer present it as such. Did anyone point that out to them? These dealers need to be held responsible when they misrepresent a car. What exactly is the service they are offering when they put a bogus car up for sale? I'm not referring to all classic car dealers, I'm referring to the ones that are knowingly selling fakes.

Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
Unreal, not that I believe this car to be a gennie for a second, but the woodgrain dash could be ordered with a standard interior, I have one just that way that I know is original as I have the history. Also came with N34 wheel, console with gauges, tach and tilt. All on a X44 base car with standard interior. It was possible to order about anything a person wanted, I have another very original base parts car here, original 307 powerglide, no options, but factory disc brakes. A buyer in the day may have been buying a base car on a budget, yet saw a particular item on a car in the showroom, then told the salesman they had to have it. Those situations were not the norm, but they did happen.
Thanks, Motown |
Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
Motown,
I know you could get woodgrain accents on the horn shroud, radio area, and headlight switch area as part of the Z23 interior appearance group. I did not realize you could get the woodgrain on the ashtray, glove box door, and surrounding area, without ordering the Z87 deluxe interior. Do you know the RPO code? I learn something new every day.:) |
Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
Matt didn't say which woodgrain he was referring to, so you may both be right.
The driver's side woodgrain came with Z23 (spec int) or D55 console. Driver's and pass side woodgrain came with Z87 (deluxe int). http://www.camaros.org/interior.shtml#1969Woodgrain |
Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
there is a classic car dealer in n.j that has changed its name a couple of times because of misrepresenting what they were selling.now that dealer has the name with LLC at the end which means limited liability corp. and is kind of a loophole from being liable for what they sell.they sould be liable for selling something they say is a matching number whatever but when they have the llc at the end buyer beware!!Ron C. Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
I believe a 'fraud' conviction will supercede the protection that an LLC provides.

Re: #'s Match COPO for sale.
