Where do some people come up with their facts and numbers? His description is a complete fabrication. Is this car known as a restamped engine?

Here we go again!!!! Here is the vin tag info:
ST 69 12437 NOR 155017 BDY
TR 711 61 F PNT

Found in a junk yard in West Virginia by Rick Dyer, I wonder where he found the engine and trans at?

Whatever happened to the million dollar cuda he had on ebay a few months ago?

Re: COPO On E-Bay

The ad certainly didn't enhance his reputation in a positive way, but it does reinforce the negative notoriety he currently enjoys from car hobbyists. The information is certainly available for him to at least make the information in the ad viable and correct. Why not tell it like it is?

Re: COPO On E-Bay

Wonder if Wagner's knew of the cars history? Guess they gave up trying to sell it. So has the engine/tranny been restamped then?

ED,At least he takes paypal..pay with your credit card, get 2% cash back and 90 day fraud protection all in one shot[might need a super duper platinum card though],might even get some free airline miles...Im just jealous because it took my #1 Documented Ls6 Convertible 8 days on ebay to get where the copo is in 5 hours...who said you need a buildsheet?

T Billigen 04-22-2003 11:22 PM

Re: COPO On E-Bay

When found in the junk yard it did not have a motor or tranny! Would a real COPO have this late of a build date? I could have bought this car 7or8 years ago from a fellow in Ohio but did not like the cars background or the brown vinyl roof that is supposed to be on it!I think the fellow wanted around 40K.

I WAS ASKED AND OFFERED BIG MONEY TO REP THIS CAR AS REAL ABOUT A YEAR AGO. MY RESPONSE WAS NOT ON YOUR LIFE. THEN I TURNED AND RAN TO THE NEAREST EXIT.HOW DOES A CAR LIKE THIS CONTINUE TO BE PURCHASED AS REAL?

Chuck - maybe I could negotiate a trip to Disneyworld as part of the deal . Brian - the more I see how this stuff is going the luckier I feel to have what I have and to know folks that will guide me in the right direction (and kick me in the butt when I need it ). I hope Jim M. can accomplish the research he is involved with now.

Not anymore, Bid retraction By????. Hemi De-javu

Re: COPO On E-Bay

He gives the person who retracted their bid a hard time about not being able to use the phone when in the ad he says e-mail is okay. I tried the e-mail to see what documentation he had and this is the automated response I received:
"Hello ----

I am currently travelling and will not have internet access (although I will have regular updates on the auction from someone that does). Please call 918.271.4692 and I'll answer any questions that you have.

Thanks for your interest and good luck!"

Maybe he's delivering the Hemi via a slow boat to China?

Re: COPO On E-Bay

the most tainted car and seller in musclecar history. its story is so long i won't even go near a burnished brown car, of course unless i reallllllllly know the seller well! well with tuttle i'm sure it has a build sheet or he will give you your $ back guarantee.

Re: COPO On E-Bay

Just wondering if the car is really listed in the registry as the ad states?

It would seem strange to me that it is based on the posts I've read about the car

Okay now who's playing with Dennis' head? Comment posted on Ebay ad:

On Apr-22-03 at 19:08:26 PDT, seller added the following information:
You guys just have to keep playing you childish games .You can't contact seller if your not intelligent enough to use a phone of which orange 396 obviously can't.

Charley Lillard 04-24-2003 03:34 AM

Re: COPO On E-Bay

Think about it. He is Committing Fraud by selling the Fake COPO. Any Emails from People telling him its a Fake could potentially be used against him and I'm sure he will be very Happy to tell you all kinds of lies over the Phone that he probably wouldn't want a Record of if it was done by Email. Someday he is gonna Rip Off the Wrong Guy and we won't have to worry about him anymore. This is the same fake COPO that they had posted color copies of My timeslips out of My Silver COPO as if they belonged to the Fake. The Trim tag says Vinyl top but there are no signs of the orig 1/4's ever having a Vinyl top. He will probably end up trading it for the Orange 3000 mile L89 Convert.

Re: COPO On E-Bay

This is a good example of why a seller would choose the private bidders option. No one can contact the bidders to inform them, and Charley hit the nail on the head. The seller won't answer any emails because they can be saved as evidence if you will.On the other hand The verbal phone comunications normally can't for the most part.
Good observation on the email response to budnate.
This guy is to much.....

Re: COPO On E-Bay

an idea, someone start a new auction with somthing in the title that relates to this car being a clone so that when bidders search for it, they see, and will realize the car is a clone as you say it is.

Its a shame that itís a private auction if its on the up & up some poor Joe is about to get screwed and watch it be back for sale six months later
Charlie was right as rain some day Dennis will screw the wrong person
And that will be the end of it https://www.yenko.net/attachments/391...enchainsaw.gif but this clown car WILL change hands many more times
Heck it might set a record as the car with most owners

Re: COPO On E-Bay

This fellow wants me to prove that is a fake. I am not the one selling it! All he has to do is get the COPO certifcation and he could shut everyones mouth including mine! I'm sure Ed would be glad to verify it for him, the small price that he charges is nothing compared to value of a real COPO!
