You guys are taking Ebay way to serious. Look at the bid history. Most of the bids were done by some one with 0 feed back, hum, makes you wonder.

Re: One Very expensive Carburetor

Yeah, I was noticing that the carb would have been pretty inexpensive if there weren't 2 guys bidding it up. And the fact that 1 guy has zero feedback is real suspicious. Still, if you were the other guy, why would you keep bidding?

I know they must have been real, they had a blue bowtie and the color of the bowtie was perfect in color which would be next to impossible too duplicate,I think they were also autographed by Hoss Cartwright. But you have to have a magnifying glass to see the autograph!but the autograph was on the front under the bowtie just like the originals so I am told! Now if I get an e mail on these tylenol I am certainly in trouble!! JUST JOKING GUYS

Rick,
Just for kicks, I picked up some of the rubber from Belk's car Sunday. After seeing this lunacy, I'm putting it in a zipper bag and squirrelin' it away for 30 years. Documented OE ZL-1 tire residue! Ok, the story can now be told. I'm the one that sold 'THE' carb. Went for more than in my wildest wet dream. I wouldnt have sold it but I neaded to buy a new bumper jack for my Nova project, and NO, there wasnt any jackin going on during that auction. Re: One Very expensive Carburetor

I still think people or crazy for bidding something up like that. If there are only 2 people bidding for something, let the other guy have it at the going rate and when the next one shows up, you'll be the only bidder. I wanted a factory servic manual for my 87 Toyota 4Runner and all the auctions kept getting bid up over $125 for used manuals and I had my high bid at $50. Finally one came along and I put my $50 bid in and there was only 1 other person interested and he bailed out at $37 so I got it for $37 instead of $125. I know that certain parts with certain dates are hard to come by, but running up the price because you're desperate doesn't make sense. It's great for the person selling the part. It seems like March 69 dated Camaro parts are in high demand $$$.
