The truck was virtually rust free when resto began with only a few areas needing attention (minor in cab corners, minor on firewall). NOS tailgate was installed. The box floor has NEVER been touched and is MINT (amazing!). NOS moundings all around. Body and Frame were both sand-blasted. Frame was painted Eastwood's Chassis Black. All frame components are NEW or restored, same with the engine compartment. Non numbers-matching 1968 327 4bbl. More pics aval. Just ask

I'm definitely into the trucks, but generally favor the '71-'72s. We've got a '72 Cheyenne Super waiting it's turn in the shop.

yeah, we like the 71-72's but opted for somthing different. I have a 72 Cheyenne Super 4x4 in Hugger Orange awaiting resto...

Cool! That '72 wouldn't happen to be a big block by any chance would it? It's hard to go wrong with ANY '67-'72 in my mind, but it seems they are getting really hard to find.

Nice old truck. I love the old Chevy trucks. But what I really want is a nice '61 4x4.

61 was a very cool year Ed.. I like the custom cab with all the side trim on the bed....if it was called that...I never see a 61 P.U. for sale.

Re: SUPER-NICE truck- 68 CST full frame off resto

I think the '61 looks great from every angle. Make mine a 409 4spd

67 SWB fleetside it the one for me

I think the 67 Trucks have it all over the later ones, especially the ones with the service small back window cabs. No side marker lights too! There are just a lot of neat things to the 67 that no other years had.

Also, can anyone tell me what the deal is with the GMC vs. Chevy rear suspensions of this vintage? I think it was GMC that had the leaf sprung rears, while chevy had the coils. Why make them different? Another item id difference is that 305 and 350 V6? I guess they were good if you have a blower on them, and they do kinda have 348.409 inspired valve covers- spark plugs through the intake manifold though.

Re: 67 SWB fleetside it the one for me

I beleive all the two wheel drive trucks had the coil rears? the leafs were for the 4-wheel units, we have a 72 Cheyenn Super, Custom Camper 4X4,with BB power and she looks factory installed.

Re: 67 SWB fleetside it the one for me

You could get leaf springs on both the Chevys and GMCs, as I've owned 2 Chevrolets with them, both of them lwb, 1/2 ton, 2wd...1 was a CST and the other a Cheyenne Super. The GMCs most generally came with leafs, while the opposite was true on the Chevrolets.

I heard that the reason for the difference in rears was because the GMC was considered more of a work truck and needed the heavier rear, whereas the Chevy was more of an upscale truck...that may be reversed, or even incorrect, but that's what I've been told a couple of times.

Re: SUPER-NICE truck- 68 CST full frame off resto

You have a nice looking truck! It may be different in other parts of the country but in NC LWB trucks of the 60's and early 70's vintage just dont bring any money at all. There are plenty of 67-72 PU's here and most can be bought for less than $4000. I missed a 70CST for $5500 by hours last summer. Also saw a 69 396 CST at a show for sale for $8500. This is not to say that your truck wont bring $20K, but the truck market here is much lower. Kevin

you're probably right, 20K is alot but its just a number we threw out there. ALOT of time and effort went into this restoration

Re: SUPER-NICE truck- 68 CST full frame off resto

My truck is available at 22.5k. It's a full numbers match truck in #2++ condition. The absolute straightest body *I* have ever seen on a 70-72.

I feel mine is worth every penny of the price.
