Re: Camaro rocker

A part number perhaps?
L meaning Left.
The Chevelle uses a Similar designed number on the 1/4 panel inside the Trunk weatherstripping Channel.
What does the right side rocker show?

Re: Camaro rocker

Just walked out to the garage and doesn't look like there is one on the pass side? Part # sounds right Thanks Kim

I think it is a secret code the factory used for rebody.

Hey Tom

I just checked and your car has the same numbers on the right rocker.

Re: Camaro rocker

Kim; got to thinking (leave this a long ), if you only found the number on one side, maybe the other rocker is still original. If so, hell, then it's not a rebody.

sYc 02-20-2003 08:49 PM

Re: Camaro rocker

Now that you mention it, I think that number is some kind of special COPO code.

I think it is a 487 cuin light truck motor built at the Tonowanda Plant in the month of May.(must be time to go home!) Jim

Re: Camaro rocker

Sure, that stands for Bob Stewart. He was Don Yenko's inside man at Chevrolet. Through Bob, that is how Don was able to get his hands on a lot of the really rare stuff.

Re: Camaro rocker

Hey now...the current "designated driver" of that yellow Yenko Camaro had NOTHING to do with this! Don't take it out on him!

Re: Camaro rocker

Sure am glad Rob is our designated driver. Of course, can not be much worse then what big Ken did to us last year.

Re: Camaro rocker

Jim; do not be making light of those 1969 built 487s. According to bs, uh, I mean Bob Stewart, they were quite the engine.
