69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Anyone heard of a car in this area? I'm more than a little curious.

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Everyone and there brother has tried to buy this car if it is the green one you are speaking of,if you go back through the musclecar discussion, and come across the heading what a shame, you will read all about it,the guy has owned the car for a long time,it rots in his yard and he will never sell it,or cover it,likes to talk about it until you ask if it is for sale, then he walks away.

The fellow lives in Endeavor, Wisconsin. Get off that exit, just before the war memorial there is a street that turns to the left, about a quarter mile on the right hand side, can't miss. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Thanks for the directions, hope you guys know I wasnt kidding, 35 guys on Harleys all wearing a very familiar patch on there back can be very persuasive in a pinch. I will be seeing this fool in the spring. If I get it, legal with a title cause any collector car is useless without one, who is interested in buying it as I dont have the time for the extensive restoration that car will need. I have found a lot of cars that were absolutly not for sale, and never found one I went after that I didnt buy. Sometimes people just have to be shown the error in there way of thinking. I am positive the right approach and a fair amount of money will buy the car. I am willing to put a wager on it, any takers?

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Ron, now how did I know I was going to hear from you on this one, the old good guy bad guy thing that has been going on since Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett. Listen Copper, that badge dont scare me none! LOL! You arent gonna do a Pat Garrett and sneak up on me in a dark room and shoot me in the back, are ya? I never said I was going to do anything illegal, I will just use the pressure tactic of 35 Kirby Vaccuum salesmen who all weigh around 280. Heck, I remember this little geeky guy sold my mom a Kirby when I was a kid, she had NO intentions of buying one. Where there is a will there is a way, any of you guys would do anything to protect your family, right? To me these cars are family and this one needs intensive care immediatly before it dies. I have taken up many worthy causes in my life and succeded, cosidering the rarity of this car it deserves the respect of being saved. Just another adventurous crusade, I just cant see how we can all stand back and let this car dwindle away to nothing. I will just label this owner an unlawful combatent, according to our government that means anything goes. You guys want me to rescue this car, or not? If nobody wants to support my effort, then what is the point? Let me know, not lectures, just yes or no answers.

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Toner, you ever fight for your country? Terrorism is an act of killing and injuring inocent people who have nothing to do with the twisted unworthy cause they are fighting for. Considering I am about the most Patriotic person you will ever meet, and I have fought for your freedoms, I take offense to that remark. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and even though I may not agree with your opinion, I would fight to the death your right to express it. The line is crossed however when your opinion includes personal attacks and namecalling on someone you dont even know. I have stated here you have rights I believe in, I will not call you any names to bring myself to your level, but labeling me a terrorist was way out of line considering the current state of affairs in the world. High pressure sales techniques take place all over the country, do you refer to your local car salesman as a terrorist for using high pressure techniques, I think not. I welcome your opinion but you might want to choose a better choice of words.

Sorry, should have clarified, I'm not talking about the green car. That car has pretty much become legendary in our circles, I guess.
This one is supposedly in original condition, been garaged a long time. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I'm trying to follow up on a lead my dad passed on to me. |
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Oh, the car isn't the problem, it was the salesman and the dealership that was the problem. I called one evening before closing after I found the car we REALLY wanted (black Malibu), the dealership said they had it, I told them I'd be there in the morning, but that it was 3 hours away (Branson). So, I call again at 7am before I leave, they still have it, I tell them I'll take it but I gotta drive it first, so we head out, get there and the car is sitting out front. Go in to take a drive, "Sorry, some guy already bought the car for his daughter". Nice. I get back in the car, but the wife is dragging behind, and the salesman lays his pitch on her. Make a long story short, we got a different Malibu, which was more expensive, had less options, and the car we traded in was sold before we signed the paperwork! I wanted a keyless entry installed, paid for it ahead of time, but they told me to come back. Went back, they said it was gonna cost me, finally get them to "remember" I pre-paid, but the best they will do is have a stereo place install an aftermarket unit...only took them 6 months to do that! Then, they have the BALLS to call up wanting me to fill out some surveys and such about how "great" it was working with them! I told them what I thought, and that was the last I heard from them.
Yet the Malibu remains! |
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Rob, I am quite sure you have some civil recourse in this matter, and the difference in that salesman and the way I will approach the owner of this Camaro is different in the respect that I will not lie to the guy, and whatever deal we make will be honored on both sides no matter how long it takes for me to pick up the car since I am sure it wont fit in my saddlebags! Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Man, Motown what has come over you today!!?? Last night on the Mustang site you were a great ploitician and today over here you are a bully! I wish I was that guy that had that Yenko because I to am 6' 2" 275 lbs and I would love some biker to try and strong arm me because all they would leave with would leave with would be a handfull of teeth and maybe a busted nose!!!!!
BTW Mo you still know that you are my guy right?? Mr R Clary sounds like you were dealing with a bad bunch. The car being sold when you got there is not that unfair though. Car dealers can not hold cars. What if when you got there and did not like the numbers and didn't buy it? Then that guy that they ended up selling the car to would have already been gone because they told him they were holding the car from someone else and as a result the dealer would have lost two sales instead of one. You would have left and the other guy probably would have bought down the street by then. Was this a new car? If it was why in the world would you drive three hours to by a new one. A late model Malibu is a dime a dozen and could be bought at any local Chevy dealer. As far as pricing goes all dealers pay the same for the new cars weather it be in California or Maine. Car sales are so competive that all you had to do is tell them that the dealer down the street was going to sell it to you for X amout of dollars and you want them to match it. |

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Frank, I dont remeber saying anywhere I was going to bully the guy to sell his car... See, that is the automatic assumption people arrive at in this country when you think of 35 bikers in a club. Frank, when is the last time you went on a blood run or toy run with all your friends to help those in need? Would you guys think I would get off my bike and start pounding on this guy about his car without speaking to him in a polite straightforward manner first? Possibly the right personality has not asked him to sell his car yet. Maybe all it would take is someone he knew was talking to him straight instead of him possibly thinking someone was trying to beat him out of it, and not in a physical way. Maybe all it would take would be a trip to the bar with a bunch of fun loving war veterans and a little blond hottie in black leather to sit on his lap and persuade him in a different way. There are a multitude of approaches that can be used in a situation like this, every avenue could be explored to achieve the desired result. It took me seven months to get my Shelby TA car from the man who was part of the Shelby race team and owned the car since 69. All the Ford and Shelby guys tried for 12 years and the owner would not so much as let anyone look at it nor would he talk about it. It took time and perserverance to buy that car and nobody was bullied, yet it sits in the garage of a Chevy guy who could barely speak the owners Ford language. Where there is a will there is a way, and what you guys are doing here is just making me more determined. I will buy the car, and I am willing to place a substantial wager on that out come with anyone here on this board. I love nothing more then a good challenge, I have saved many a important piece of automotive history from the scrap yard in the past, and almost all were not for sale. If I had to guess I would say this guy has not sold this car due to the fact that he may not have much of a life and he enjoys the attention it brings him. It may take no more then having a nice Harley with us for him to ride himself to the local tavern, it only takes doing that once to be addicted and you get attention every where you go. When he finds out he has the option of keeping the Harley for the car...maybe thats the answer. My point is there are a multitude of options that could get the job done, I dont believe it would ever come to having to act like the "bikers" that hollywood portrays us to be to the rest of the world. I may not get the car on the first visit, but I will get the car as long as he dosent dispose of it in any way before I have the opportunity to sway his stubborn tragic way of thinking. I spent many years as a young man beating people with my fists as well as being beat(mostly other bikers), but in my later wiser years I have learned to use my mind vs my hands. It is all a matter of ones problem solving skills combined with patience. Then, if all else fails, more unrefined tactics may be in order. I havent even seen this car, it may be so far gone it is beyond repair without a rebody, which I want no part of. If that is the case I will throw flowers on the hood, write down the VIN#, and be on my way. But hey Frank, I love a good scrap with my friends, if ya want I will meet ya down at the clubhouse in Chicago and we can fight and drink together! Geez, now I have been called a Bully and a Terrorist, and the funny part is, no matter what tactic I used to buy the car, a lot of guys here would line up to buy it and not care about how I got it as long as I had car and Title in hand!

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Someone was kind enough to email me pictures of this car, it looks to be savable to me, more reasons for determination on my part to go for it. How many guys here have tried, and what was the standard response? We can not let this piece of history to continue to sit here and waste away. This is going to take a different approach then money, I am sure that has been tried. Gentlemen, I will make this happen! I have been bored lately anyway, apparently at least some of you are behind me on this or I never would have recieved those inticing photos, thats like putting heroin in front of a junkie. It had the desired effect. Let the games begin!

|
Re: 69 Yenko Camaro, Milwaukee WI area
Bel Air, It does suck to lose a Family member in any way, but needlessly over someones fanatical twisted ideals and crusades? The people responsible for that...that is the definition of a Terrorist, a Bully, they had no worthwhile motive what so ever! What sucks besides my loss, is the loss thousands like myself have had to deal with the grief, grief that comes from no closure, grief from what really sucks is we dont have the A$$H@LE that is responsible. It sucks when I turn on the TV today and still have to listen to threats from the same scum responsible for all the pain and suffering every American has felt over this. We all lost something or someone in The World Trade Center, that took something from all us as Americans we will never regain. It took our sense of security, our sense of freedom, and it put us in fear for the rest of our lives for our childrens future. Thats what Sucks. My loss was minor, we all suffered an attack on our pride. That Sucks. We live in a country where that Yenko owner has the right to sit and let that car rot, a country where I have the right to try and buy it. Thats what they are trying to take from us. That Sucks! As for the car in Wisconsin, I will show up as a biker which I am proud to be, and I will buy that car because it also deserves to be free, and I will treat the owner with respect when I buy it, I will find a way and it wont be thru infringing on his rights. The right approach has night been used yet or someone else would already own that car. I will. In some twisted way the directions this thread has gone has now made it personal for me. I will quit trying to buy it only if I no longer breath free American Air. I have never really commented on the people bashing issue before, but I do agree this is not the place for it, so let me apologize in advance, but I think we all have the right to BASH that Bin Laden piece of worthless crap for trying to destroy everything we know, love, and cherish. Sorry guys, through no ones fault and an innocent error, a lot got dredged up quick here, I apologize for dumping this, but sometimes ya gotta have vents and be able to talk to somebody, even if I cant see you guys, I know you are there, and somehow there is comfort in that knowing I dont deal with my grief alone. You will all be the first to know when I obtain that worthy car. Someone has to show it respect. Thanks for listening.
