Re: YS8013
Wow that didn't take long. No wonder the guy wasn't really interested in hearing your story about the car, Charley. Now is your chance to put it back in your garage!!
|
Re: YS8013
Charley, is this an example of what we might find in your garage? If nothing else, this ebay ad allows us average joes to get a good look at a piece of muscle car history.
It's too bad the new owner treats the car as a commodity. Billy |
Re: YS8013
Anybody have a body # ?

Re: YS8013
Can anybody prove it has the original Yenko transplant engine?
|
Re: YS8013
It does not have the orig. transplant engine. I got the car from Bob Egley who had it advertised on this site. Bob lives about 22 miles from where Yenko was and owned it for over 20 years. I believe Brian said that Donna Mae Mims read some notes at some time stating that that car was traded back in at Yenko and Don used it for a Driver for awhile. Nice car. The shifter is a Vertigate. Nice Headers, no smog. Runs hard.

Re: YS8013
I put my bid in on ebay but I'm done at 69K. Oh well...

Re: YS8013
Charley's would look lmore like this :P

Re: YS8013
During a restoration on the car, a stray spark caught the interior on fire of 8013. Caused the interior to burn and buckle the roof. The entire roof was replaced and the 140 speedo was detroyed. That would have been a rough day...BKH

Re: YS8013
So does it have a 140 speedo now? Did the YS-8013 number tag survive?
|
Re: YS8013
I think the YS tag was missing, but I am not certain. I remember talking to Bob about that. The 140 was not there when I saw the car last...BKH

Re: YS8013
It has a 140 speedo and a YS 8013 tag. Also has the orig. Trim Tag. At the time of the fire he had the interior out of the car. He was in the House eating Dinner when his Neighbor told him his Car was on fire. He replaced the roof with a NOS piece.

Re: YS8013
I got an email from ebay saying that this auction was ended by ebay due to the suspension of the seller's account. All results are "null and void". There is no longer any record of this auction and search comes up unknown item. Something fishy about this. Does anybody know anything about this or care to speculate? Re: YS8013
I received the same email, I also went to check out why and it has completely disapeared as you say. His account was ,acording to eBay, suspended. Sure sounds strange.
|
Re: YS8013
Maybe because of the price of the car, ebay read this thread and thought the guy should have disclosed the fire and roof replacement? I dunno but it is weird.
|
Re: YS8013
69RSSS, you sure come up with some different opinions. The owner knows nothing about the roof or the fire and I don't think it is any different than replacing a 1/4 panel. He put a NOS roof on it and it looks perfect. Is that different than changing a 1/4 or trunk floor ?
|
Re: YS8013
Charley, I was just speculating and I don't recall saying anything negative about the roof replacement. I bid a sizeable amount of cash on that car. Ebay suspended this guys account for some reason and thought someone here may have info. End of story.
