Blue LS6 Chevelle anybody recognize this one
3 Attachment(s)
This was owned by a friend of mine in the late 70's Bench seat. 4sp LS6. low mile, original paint car. It went to New York from south Ga. It had the original tires and wheels with it also. I'm not sure where it was sold out of.
|
Makes me want to put a set of slot mags on mine.
|
Can anybody make out if that horn cap is Corvette? I might know this car.

Slots look awesome on it!

I got this car from the original owner around 1977. I was at a car show in Atlanta and sold a 1966 Shelby GT350. I bought the Chevelle from a guy to have a way to get home 250 miles away. Drove it home with the original wheels and tire stuffed in the trunk and back seat. The 410 gears made for a fun drive to South Georgia.
|
Bench seat, 4-speed LS6 and original paint? That’s a serious time capsule right there. Even cooler that it still had the original tires and wheels with it

I only owned the car a few months. Posted it for sale in Hemmings Motor News.
Sold it to a guy from Long Island New York. He flew into the Tallahassee, Florida airport. I picked him up in the car and he dropped me off at my house and then drove the car back to New York. I sold the car for $5500. It was very different from any transaction today. |

Slots were the way to go. My first Corvette in 1977, I still love the way this car looks, I still have two of these Good Year tires in my attic as I put Radial TA's on shortly after I bought it.

----Boy! Both Chris and Tim profilin' back in the day! Yessir!....Bill S
|
Bill - didn't your red LS6 that you sold Bob S. back in the late 80's have slots on it when you got it?
|
----I think so, but I gave Bob the only pics I had of the car. I had slots on both my 69 435 Corvette and my 70 Corvette. Back then I loved them. Now I'm a serious TT-D nut case. Working on another set of 15's, 6 and 7's that crossed my path....Bill S
----Took a look thru some old albums and that LS-6 had a set of turbine style wheels! That LS6 was probably the lowest option LS-6 I ever owned! |

Oh wow! BEAUTY!
|
Bill, I too have fallen in love with the TT-D. Slots need to be deep, whereas the TT-D can be shallow.
|
Chris, your black car is absolutely perfect.

That Black Vette was a one of a kind that I wish was still in my garage. |

My contribution to this off-the-rails aluminum slots discussion. 1973, while I was still in my post-Vietnam rebellion mode, my Mother was soo proud....
Wish I had that truck today. |

My first car around 73-74. A lot of guys had AL slots on their cars.

Those Mickey Thompson Indy Profile tires look spectacular on those polished slots.

Kept the wheels and tires, have them sitting in stockpile of vintage tires. New owner didn't want them, and installed some 17" TTs. I caught wind that they were ceasing production of M/T IPs about 15 years ago?? and started hunting.

To confirm, Ezdealin who sold the car late 70’s, is OP Member Lowmile’s friend mentioned in the original post, also he doesn’t have the VIN? Great it’s on the Lost Muscle site now, hope someone recognizes it there! :beers: ~ Pete . |
