BBBenny's (Benny Pfeiffer) survivor 1969 L78 Camaro!
8 Attachment(s)
The story about the L-78 Camaro started on March 26, 1969 in Tucson, AZ.
The owners father was terminally ill so he told his son that his wish for his son was to get the car of his dreams. So, to appease his father, the son went to Murray-Bryant Chevy in Tucson, AZ. and placed an order for a new 1969 SS Camaro. When he was done placing the order, he had selected 19 options on the Camaro! The car was built the first week of May. But since his father had passed away before he took delivery of the Camaro, he didn't drive it much. He rarely ever drove it in the rain. Sometime later, he put the car in a climate controlled storage building where it remained for 25 years. For personal reasons he had to sell the car. He sold it to a member here on the site. If he wants to come forth, and say anything about the car, he can. I also want to thank. Joe (member name X66 714) for all his help with the Camaro. He stored the car at his house for almost a year. Also, he knew the original owner of the Camaro. What's amazing about this Camaro is that it has every piece of paperwork imaginable-including copies of checks for the purchase of the car. NO piece of documentation, is missing! The Camaro has 12,025 original miles on it. This past July, I took the car to the Camaro Nationals. I ran it through the Vintage Certification where it scored 4951 out of a possible 5000 points! I hope the car piques the interest of some of the members on the site and that you enjoy the pics! Awesome ‘69 Camaro.
Question about the white crayon number on the inside of rim. What do these numbers represent? The above ‘69 has a 804. My ‘65 GTO has a 186. Thanks in advance! |
Reviewed the car at MCACN several years ago when Joe's friend owned it and yes, an incredible find and congratulations Benny......

Amazing how "assembly line" this car still looks. Such a well preserved piece of history. A great piece of 1969 camaro reference. I am fortunate to live pretty close and be able to see Benny's both 69 camaro "survivors" in person.
Well done Professor! |
Happy happy late birthday Mr B P
