Has anyone seen or know of this 69 chevelle. It had been in hotrod magazine and was sold out of Warren Michigan sometime in the 80’s. It belonged to a good friend of mine and she’s looking to see if it still exists. Thanks

Lost Musclecars on Facebook seems to have uncanny luck finding lost cars.

Was the owners name Greg? did he also have a I think 40' Ford coupe racecar named Grey Ghost?

cheveslakr 11-27-2025 02:58 AM

That car is way too familiar, probably from a magazine, but hotrod doesn't fit my memory, one of the more customizing friendly rags maybe???

When I saw the posting on Lost Muscle Cars, I immediately remembered this car. As a young teenager I lusted over this Chevelle, I thought it was the coolest Chevelle I had ever seen. I only knew it through a Carl Casper Custom Auto Show promo magazine, never saw it in person. This would have been late 70's timeframe.

I had remembered seeing a Chevelle like this in Hot Rod years ago but after finding the magazine and comparing pictures, it doesn't seem to be the same car. - Sorry for the sideways pictures. They were upright on my computer.

You had no choice in So CAL in the mid 70s.
this was the start of Ca state smog inspection system.
If you were pulled over at that time the police would look under your hood.

Somewhere is my stash of magazines, I have that issue of Hot Rod.
It sticks out as it was the first issue which I bought and remember the boat on the cover.

I noticed the Gotelli Speed Shop license plate frame.
Gotelli Speed Shop was owned by Ted Gotelli and was located in South San Francisco

Says in the article that he was from San Mateo.

Maybe I'm just confused.....is this thread still about the OP orange Chevelle or has it morphed into a thread about the flamed Chevelle?

I'm surprised no leads have come in.

Are there any Street Freak groups on FB?

Not to hijack the thread again but this car still exists! Not sure where the boat is though.
