I don't know much about the proper brake boosters or era-correct hose clamps, but I can that is one beautiful Chevelle and the paint color is really nice as well, whatever color that is.

your friend is a lucky man...

----I am literally drooling. If this LS5 had a white interior I'd offer him a $10,000 profit. He'd be dumb to take it. Just a very cool rare color combo!....Bill S

Beautiful chevelle. Same color as my prior monte carlo ss.

luzl78 10-23-2025 12:17 AM

On one of the rear pics it looks like the rear was hit. What’s with the trunk gaps?

I’m building another 70 Monte in those same colors but it’s gonna be a convertible with white interior and white top and Astro blue and be a close twin to my other one. Jason restored this one.

Thank goodness. That car is an awesome car to be seen and be seen in. What a great cruiser it must be with that big block torque. The American dream right there.

Denis Guenzel 10-23-2025 12:53 AM

Flyingn, yes .saw the Chevelle at my friends shop.he helped sell my 1969 judge

ohhawk 10-23-2025 03:55 PM

Chuck Hanson owned (perhaps still does) a ‘70 Chevelle SS LS-5 convertible in a very rare black ext / red int combination with M22. These models are out there but don’t appear often.

Assume the one being shown here has build sheet / POP………nice find indeed.

Has full documentation. Inspected by Chris white and confirmed

HEMIBEE 10-23-2025 09:13 PM

Had the car in my shop for a month this summer, one of the most solid 70 Chevelle convertible’s I’ve seen, great interior, the console being black looks off but I believe it’s original, drivers inner and outer fender were replaced at one time, great car

Chuck sold that car a few years ago. I'm pretty sure it was no stripes, at least while he owned it.

It doesn't have stripes,as it came with the standard Super Sport package "Power bulge" hood which didn't include stripes.
And not an official stripe delete car,as it wasn't ordered with a ZL-2 Cowl Ind Hood.
Check out all the A.C.E.S. license plates.. :D

Pics I have of it show white stripes.

flyingn 10-24-2025 01:24 AM

I remember chucks car not having stripes

ohhawk 10-24-2025 01:27 AM

Just guessing here but Chuck H may have made some changes back to the correct hood for this car after he purchased it so to match the build sheet. I have a copy of this car's build sheet which does show "SS" in the air cleaner box (open element air cleaner / no cowl induction). The pic that he sent to me at the time showed the stripes and cowl induction hood.......maybe a pic from the previous owner? I had inquired about purchasing it from him at the time. I don't know how long he had owned it prior to my inquiry.

Looks much better w/o white stripes in this color combo case.
