Heckuva first new Corvette!

That is a great document, Ralph. It is an 001AA special paint code, also. I have that one in my files and I love it.

Lynn 09-06-2025 06:59 PM

Wow. Wish I had one for my LT-1. When I got it, the tank had already been removed once and the PO either didn't find it or just didn't keep it.

Nice build for sure!

Ralph Spears 09-06-2025 09:14 PM

Only black interior was available with Daytona yellow, but I wanted saddle/yellow that is why special paint, this sheet was in the car on the passenger side floor when it arrived at the dealer

----Tim,,,Is that the Jack Douglass Chevrolet ordered 67 convert. That came thru Classic Motors back in the day. Memory (weak) says that the convert was a 427/400 powerglide with a number of options....Bill S

Can't believe I was able to figure out how to rotate a picture...

TimG 09-06-2025 10:17 PM

Bill, Ralph's is a 69 Daytona Yellow.
Ralph, did you have to put down a big deposit since it was a non-available color combination? I notice a number in the COPO box, too.

Ralph Spears 09-06-2025 11:32 PM

TimG, no deposit I worked at the dealership

I've seen several special paint 70 Chevelle's with the owners name on the build sheet Ralph but I'm an amateur when it comes to Corvette's so yours is the first for me.

TimG 09-07-2025 12:34 PM

Ralph, I've paperwork with names on Brass Hat cars, COPO paint cars, astronaut cars, and the Bart Star 1967 Corvette. I will say it is unusual to see a name on paperwork and that is pretty cool.

Ralph Spears 09-07-2025 02:09 PM

Can you start a thread so we can see some of them

I would need to modify the documents or get the owners permission. Some have been on the internet or at auction. Many were sent to me confidentially.

olredalert 09-07-2025 08:11 PM

----Ralph,,,Do you know where the car is today?....Bill S

Why does the box marked date received say "8/11/14" on the original broadcast sheet?

AnthonyS 09-08-2025 12:42 AM

Ooof!

Mr70 09-08-2025 01:12 AM

Looks like 68/11/14
1968
November
14th day

Bill Pritchard 09-08-2025 02:25 AM

Expected production date on broadcast sheet says "8/00/00". No '6' in front of the '8' there. But I suspect your deciphering is correct, Rick.

olredalert 09-08-2025 08:27 PM

----Wow, Ralph! Did you trade the 67 on this Riverside gold coupe? That was a bad hit. I'm guessing it was a total. I bought a new RG 435 69 off of Ed Stinn in Cleveland in November of 67. The original short block went south 3 weeks later (wrist pin in one cylinder was frozen and forced the piston into the cylinder wall). The dealer claimed they could fix that short block, but I opted for a new CE short block. Do you also have the paperwork for the 69?....Bill S

Ralph Spears 09-08-2025 08:30 PM

I never had a 67 or a Riverside gold 69.

olredalert 09-08-2025 08:34 PM

----Sorry, I apologize. I just have made some assumptions, I guess....Bill S

Ralph Spears 09-09-2025 09:59 PM

Should have been illegal for an 18 year to drive a car like that.
