Favorite Car hoods

3 Attachment(s)
I did a search for this topic and nothing came up. I thought it would be fun to see what everyone's favorite hoods are from the factory or aftermarket.
I love the various types of high performance hoods from all makes and models.
From the two types of big block mid year Corvettes to the "Grump Lump" and early seventies Formula "dual snorkel".
There are so many cool hoods!:headbang:
What say you?

Most Iconic: the Camaro Cowl hood

They are everwyhere now - on Chevelles, Camaros, even Pontiacs and Mustangs, from stock height all the way up to 4" or even 5".

Could not agree more. It looks great on both, and for some reason, the L88 absolutely goes perfect with the body lines of the second gen Camaro. Should have been a factory option.

I saw one of these cars back in the 70s. Always thought it was a cool looking hood.

Period correct, I love the Dick Harrell '68 Chevelle hood

Modern, I have to toot my own horn... I made this one for my Pro Touring 69 Chevelle. It was originally inspired by the Harrell hood, but I needed to evacuate high-pressure air more than I needed to bring in more air, so the original idea to copy the Harrell hood evolved into this. Functionally, it's a very big improvement to keep the nose planted at 140+mph. Stock hood traps a LOT of high-pressure air under them, and generate a lot of aero lift.

Derek, Your PT '69 is pretty wild looking. Can you do a separate post of your Chevelle? I'd love to see more of it.

Ram Air GTO w/hood tach. My uncle’s red ‘70 4sp convertible had this setup when I rode around with him as a Pre-K burgeoning car kid and it left an indelible impression.

My choice will always be the early Formula Firebird duel snorkel hood but there are a lot of other really cool hoods shown.
