Wanted: Leaf Spring Eye Bracket J Clip - 3892755

Looking for NOS J Clips for the front leaf spring eye bracket on a camaro/ nova.

GM Part number 3892755. Must be the factory type with the nut not just the threaded cone. Will take as many as I can find.

Thanks,
Dave

For the Sake of discussions. What is the wrench size on the nut flats and then the threads sizing. I wonder if the replacements are inferior to the Orig design? & can a Guy take Cone style and TIG weld a appropriate sized Jam nut in place for a working option.

I cross threaded one of my Origs as the "J" part of the nut was 'Sprung' which lead to miss alignment of the starting thread and caused a problem that I quickly corrected by NOT forcing it and removed and tapped it out and was really careful starting the bolt again.

I might be able to source one or two factory ones if you are in a jam, but the ALL you can take might be a reason to start fabbing these, if the Cone are just a disaster

Clamp the break closed, v groove and weld it. Grind, hand file to finish.
Welding would the same as a butt, small tack and cool between welds until complete. Blast cabinet with medium coarse media and low pressure to give the repair a slight texture.

Here in WI, the nuts break off the clip. The cone style is far better.

This is the result leading me to go back the OEM route with factory j clips.

3 of these clips stripped out way before I could even torque to spec. All by hand. I wouldn’t trust these.

Here’s an example.

well that def is a problem, wonder if different manufactures of these are the problem?

I like the orig style and would probably do a spot weld on each nut to be sure they don't break loose.

What torque are you using.

Here is an interesting thread.

I saw that too. Crazy it’s from 2006 and still having the problem in 2025.

They stripped before I could get a torque wrench on them. The originals I cleaned and put back torqued to 25ft/lbs with no issue.

Are yours the CIP clips or other? Where did you get them?

Not sure the brand. I can look closer tonight. They came with the install kit from Eaton Spring

Honestly, I could have sworn my 67 originals were the barrel style but could be mistaken.

AMK fastener sold them at one time.

The original clip nuts on my '67 Feb LOS built are hex. I have a set of the replacements from OER and the bolt seems under-size, as it wobbles in the barrel and the threads are shallow in the barrel as well. I can see where they aren't going to hold much torque.
One of my original bolts cross threaded in a nut too and the bolt is trash. I was going to use 1 replacement clip nut and bolt, but not now. I will re-thread the nut, but will need a bolt, as the replacement bolt is loose in the original nuts too.

There is no brand identifier on the j clips
