Recommendations on cabinet blaster
 

Looking to buy a cabinet sandblaster - similar to the Eastwood B60. Would include the dust collector and related as well. Want it to be big enough for wheels.

Any other things to consider?

Take a look at the Trinco line.

----Trinco is a local Detroit suburb business. Never thought about it but maybe they have other locations. I've done business with them for 25 years now and they never steered me wrong. For me, it's great to have a local place that has almost all the different grades and types of material. If you have the space get a 60 inch wide box. That way you can get long stuff in the box, as well as room to turn bigger pieces around without too much trouble....Bill S

If you plan on keeping it long term and use it a fair amount, the Eastwood and HF cabinets start falling apart. The 4 sided chute on my HB is"glued/seam sealed" together and the sealer is letting go. My media falls out on the floor. When I saw the piles and realized the panels aren't even pop riveted, I was quite surprised.
I have coveted a Skat Blast cabinet for years, just can't pull the trigger when mine does still work, with enough persuasion.
If you have a Northern Tool nearby, they stock some media but have much more available to have brought in.

Spend the extra $ (if required) for at least one (two is better) FLOOD LAMPS inside the cabinet. Really helps you check your progress w/out having to open the door. I have one flood lamp in a couple cabinets here. Both came w/a florescent lamp/tube. I'll probably add another flood lamp to the larger (TP Tools) cabinet...one hanging on the L side ceiling and another on the R side. You can also go to HDepot, etc and get the wiring box, bulb fixture, etc and do that yourself for less $ compared to buying the floodlight kit from TP Tools, etc.

Love my Scat blast cabinet.
Very reasonably priced for what you get.
Make sure you get extra tips and filters

Nobody mentions about replacement of the glass window that WILL Get Clouded Up........

go with TRINCO change out the internal lines with 5/8 heater hose they last longer

Not a huge concern if you go get a roll of clear acetate film...from Hobby Lobby or order on the Internet. Figure out your window size and pre-cut a bunch of sheets of it.

Tape it on to the INSIDE of the glass and tape all the way around it (masking tape) so there are no exposed edges....you're sealing it off to keep dust, etc from getting b/n the acetate and the inside of the glass.

TPTools sometimes includes these w/their cabinets and probably sells it separately but the pre-applied strips of adhesive on their acetate pieces may not completely seal it off.

A lot cheaper to just get a roll and make your own.

I'll try to find the label from a roll I've been using....I think I got this last roll on the Internet instead of Hobby Lobby as it was a slightly thicker acetate.

Sure, it's another maintenance item you have to deal with but arguably a lot easier/cheaper than having to change out the glass itself.

You are supposed to use the clear stick on, window provided with the cabinet and buy, or make as 70 post suggests, replacements when it gets clouded. Gloves wear out/thru too. Like any tool, there is maintenance needed over time. For as little as mine gets used, having bought a pack of 12 several years ago, I still have 7 left.
I, also, removed the fluorescent lamp and installed 2 small size flood lamps in the front, upper corners for light.
